So I buy all of my "discount parts" kinda stuff from O'Reily and have for a while. When I first bought my Cobra I needed plug wires. I ordered them from Autozone. The guy argued with me about what motor was in my car. He told me about how long he'd been doing his job and why I was wrong, blah blah blah so I said fine, he ordered them, they came in WRONG.
I went to Smyth and Advanced and had similar situations, but I knew better to wait around for them to be wrong again. Someone suggested O'Reily, I'd never been there before, but they knew exactly what I needed without a million questions, didn't argue with me, and got the correct wires in the next morning. The guy turned out to be Holly's nephew, Zack.
So, they recently put an O'Reily in Dry Ridge. I've bought a few things there, they know my cars by heart and will ask, "Is this for the Mustang or the Supra?" Lately it's been for the Supra. So, I ordered plug wires for the "Supra" and they got it wrong. To make a longer story a little shorter, I called them yesterday to let them know the wires were for the n/a Supra, not the Turbo. It was irritating because I already threw the old wires away and that left me 10 minutes from getting my car running after 2 weeks of being down.
At any rate, I always say that everyone screws up, it's all about how you handle it. I made a call yesterday at around 4:00pm to let them know. They exchanged the wires without charging me the extra (turbo model wires were more) and had their driver bring them to my front door at 8:30am this morning. That's exactly the kind of stuff that will keep customers coming back. It's they're awesome customer service.

It's a 1990 Mark 3 Turbo, Targa, 5 spd. I love it. I bought it for like $700 with a leaky head gasket. If anyone knows about them, they're known for blown head gaskets. I swapped to a HKS steel head gasket with ARP head studs. After having the head off, all the 20 year old dry rotted rubber was too rough to put back so I started replacing that too. So now it's got 2.5" aluminum intercooler piping, new aluminum intercooler, 3" stainless exhaust from the turbo back. Also did a new 3 core aluminum radiator and electric fans. The turbo went out, which is why it's down, so I picked up a rebuilt/upgraded stock turbo with a Garret .57 trim compressor wheel.

I agree with O'reilys. I have recently been going to the tri county location for a few things. They were actually cheaper than autozone or advanced and had no problem working with me on what parts i was buying and understanding my needs. The guy actually directed my to Cincy Speed when I asked about AN fittings.

I should be out and about later today. We should meet up and I'll introduce you to some of the local car guys if you don't already know them. PM me your number or something.

Wow, that's nuts. What all did you have done to yours? My planned next upgrades will be the Lexus AFM, 550cc injectors, fuel pump and regulator, and Apexi AFC Neo fuel piggyback. I'm hoping for 350-375 whp with that. I'm considering going with an AEM EMS instead of the piggyback, but it's a lot more money and I don't really have the upgrades to use it yet.

pretty much the same except Apexi Type R timer, AEM EMS, stage II turbo upgrade was running around 20lbs, Walbro fuel pump, full exhaust, oh and apexi cam gears. Mine had some pretty steep gears too 4:30 from the factory, it was fun everything in the world tried to race me in it.......

LOL remember when we called Autozone to see if they carried timing guns?
Hardcore: Hello, do you carry timing guns?
Autozone "expert": What kind of car is it for?
Hardcore: What, huh? I need a Timing gun. Do you have them?

O'Reily's was the only OPEN place to have brake pads fo my 91 Civic EX.
I've been back a few times since, no hassle.
I still goto AZ for oil and wipers, the awards program helps too.
Savage in Fairfield has always been great.

The only reason I go to Autozone is for Oil, Bulbs, Wipers, Coolant, Etc. If it's an actual part I always go to KOI hands down. Those guys actually do know what their talking about.
