I wanted to thank Chris for being so cool with this sale even though I got a little paranoid a couple times. Smooth transaction all the way. I'm a proud owner of a 2003 Cobra.

It was delivered today while i was at work. I arrived home and it was sitting in the driveway smiling at me.

The top end is pulled apart. The tensioner broke and starved the cams of oil on the DS head. Need the cams polished and the journals cut and line honed. I hope to have it back together in a few weeks.

Very cool project Bart....I love the white Cobra's.
Haven't touched my car stuff this year due to health issues with my wife. She's back to work and feelin' better for now. I've spent the whole summer messing with vintage balloon tire bicycles from the 30's, 40's and 50's....just to keep my need to tinker gene satisfied.
I have all of the big stuff gathered for the truck and will be getting back to work on it this winter. Just purchased a complete front suspension set up for it last week. It's coming freight from Michigan and should be here next week.
I sold off all of my car stuff except for the Cobra, '60 F100 and parts I've collected to build a nailhead Buick powered '29 Ford roadster pickup.
I get on here from time to time looking for small stuff for the truck. As far as the Dayton board goes I think I was banned. No one ever told me officially but I can't sign on or change my password and no one answers my emails.
Probably stems from me owning the gemcitystangs.com domain. No big deal really! I only went to one car event of any kind all summer.
Nice to see your still at it and hope to meet up again some day :bigthumb

Chris, I appreciate the offer, but would like to save this one and put it back on the road. I would like to get the paperwork squared when we get time to meet up again. I know i got a killer deal on the price and am not complaining. Although, worst case scenario I fall onto PLAN B: this car gets absorbed into the 66/96 build and not leave much left to part out but a shell. You're a stand up guy and your reputation precedes you. I trust you.

Don't get too excited everyone. Chris finally called. I'm just waiting on him to give me the rest the of paperwork so I can transfer the title. Without a title my bank is going to shit on my loan. The longer I (have to) wait the closer I get to the bank doing so. I'm starting to have second thoughts about the whole deal but Chris has assured me there won't be a problem getting it titled, he has the receipts so I can get the ar inspected for a salvage rebuild. I seem to be the only one who wants to drive this car, everyone wants to part it out which would probably be easier. I have a lot of hoops to jump through and it's stressing me out with the clock ticking.

Don't be scared of the salvage inspection... Take it to the Jackson inspection office... They will literally just look at the car and approve it. Lots of people I know take there rebuilt cars there, and they are laid back. All they have to make sure is that the parts on the car are not stolen, and I know Chris gets killer deals on parts thru vendors so that won't be an issue. :bigthumb
Drive that mutha! :)

Lots of people tend to freak out on salvage inspections if they have never done one before. Pretty painless, just be on time, have the inside cleaned out, and have all your receipts for the parts that were changed. Garunteed pass! I agree too, way too nice to part down, I'd drive the sh!t outta that beauty!!! I have no fear of a salvage title as long as the work was done right!!!

Thank you for the info, I'll do that. I'm not scared of the salvage inspection. I'm scared I'm going to pay the $50 for a salvage inspection and still not have the receipts Chris has yet to give me and be out $50.
I am scared the bank is going to ask for the title soon which I can't give them until after I have the inspection, which I can't get without the receipts Chris still has. The clock is ticking, eventually the bank is going to turn my auto loan into a personal loan and the fuc*ing interest rate is going to more than double, because I can't get the inspection because Chris hasn't given me the receipts to the car I bought 2 weeks ago.
Chris, where are you? You said we'd take care of this last week.

the only thing i'd be a paranoid about is when you hand them a salvage title for the loan you got for the car let us know how that one turns out:popcorn: my guess there gonna make it a personal loan and your still going to pay the intrest rates

I already talked to them about it, they're cool with it as long as I don't miss the deadline.

becouse like i told you before i have been really busy,i was hoping to have time and meet up with ya but i havent so you go straight on here to let everyone else no how the deals going on the whole time,as far as i'm concerned the reciept is being mailed out to you then i'm done with it,and dealing with you on anything anymore,i'm sorry but you went out and straight put this out like i screwed you so everyone can see it,i've been asked "whats up with the cobra" so many times in the past 3 weeks i'm sick of hearing about it,your paranoia has become my problem. over 2 $50 fenders and a $150 bumper?i wish you would have waited to post anything like this until the deal was final, for further refrence i would not do people like this while doing any transaction until you have been screwed or what ever your trying to make me out to be. i hope you enjoy the car
