Nope, not a Mark VIII. A Town Car...why? Because. My buddy has a green '93 on 18" black bullitts dished in the back with an H-pipe and Flowmasters dumped. It's not a bad little DD at all. We've been tossing the idea around of putting a little more muscle under the hood. My first question would be, is it possible to use PI heads on that block? I figure you all know a lot more about that stuff than the two of us. Once that's answered, we'll go from there :bigthumb

Yup, it would be like a PI swap on a mustang. The only thing that may throw a wrench in the works is the intake. I believe the throttle body on Crown Vics, Grand Marquis', and Town Cars are on the opppsite side from a Mustang.

Yeah, I think it'll be fun. You should see the looks he gets from people already when they hear it  LOL

That's what we figured. His current setup runs toward the driver's side of the car, while the 'stangs go toward the passenger's side. So, once we get the heads on there, we'll probaby have to look at it and decide what to do from there. I think it'd be cool to try and fab up a Mustang CAI kit to work on it. He's also talked about just port matching his current intake to the PI heads, that way the intake is taken care of, plus the throttle linkage would stay the same. I'm just afraid that stock intake on his car will rob him of whatever extra flow the PI heads will give him. I guess we'll have to wait and see. It all definately seems do-able.

Oh, that's been mentioned ;)

This makes we want to dig out my old issues of MM&FF from the "luxobarge shootout."

You can swap the PI intake too, you'll need parts from a town car that had the plastic intake.

Oh I used to get that A LOT with my Mark Viii... it was straight-piped and all kinds of loud... I freakin loved it...
I miss driving that car...
It was the Underpass King, if a car pissed me off in traffic and had their window down, and we were coming to an overpass, I'd be sure to step on the loud pedal and make it kick down about 2 or 3 gears in their ear... God I love that car. :D
It sounded like it could kill the earth at WOT

Haha awesome. How'd you like parking garages? We used to compete and see who could set off more car alarms LOL.
Thanks for the tips guys. I'm gonna try and push him to go for it. Then we'll bring it out for the spring cruise :bigthumb

In my opinion, nothing sounds as good as a 4cam mod motor.

Unfotrunately I don't see a whole lot of parking garages in my area... but IF I did... I bet I'd set off EVERY one.

I think the only thing that comes close is an LSX series engine...

well if theres nothing else in the way you could extend the MAF wires to the other side of the car and just use a cone filter instead of an air box, and if its like the grand marquis and has the battery on that side then just relocate it to the trunk
