Anyone have CARFAX right now-Also title help

Hello guys, I have been looking at this Nissan truck for a couple weeks now.....I have finally come up with the money through begging and borrowing, but the guy said a few things that worry me a little bit. I am supposedly leaving after work tomorrow to get the truck, but it is 4 hours away and would like to know if there is more to this story. If someone can run this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Anyone know the rules for someone transferring a Florida title to Ohio.....he swears it doesn't need notarized, but last car I bought from NC sat for 2 weeks after I bought it, because I had to send the title back to this guy to get it notarized.

I bought my car in florida and I am almost positive it didnt need notarized. Better be safe and get it done than sorry. I looked online and it looks like florida titles dont need noturized though.

No. I flew to florida and did the work there as well as getting my temp tag. drove home and got the out of state inspection and trans my tags. Why is it still a florida title? If i were you I would meet the guy at a dmv and get it taken care of there. Any dmv can do what you need to insure its legit and any one of them can issue a temp tag as well. Dont go to a bank as they tend to not know as much s far as noturizing questions. The dmv will know for sure.

So does it have a salvage title now or a rebuilt title? Salvage can be a pain in the ass, rebuilt is no problem as far as titling and tagging. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. I have delt a lot with rebuilt titles and the mustang I have now was a florida rebuilt title.

Beefcake, thanks for doing this, I have been working with this guy for a while and tomorrow evening I was heading. I am so glad I called him back and got the VIN "to get it insured."


That is really wierd....I am totally leary now. I posted this on Corral hoping to get a response tonight. This response doesn't have any mention of it.

At the end of the carfax from Beef, it says Duplicate title.....is it possible that Florida is a state where you can possibly inspect a vehicle and get a good title for a previously salvaged car?

No. once its branded legally it stays that way. There are a few shady ways to get around it but normally once a branded title always a branded title. Dup title means at some piont the title was lost or someone didnt have the title so they had to get a dup title. Your florida title will say RB on it. Its not as noticable as our ( ohio) titles that put it in bold type. Whats did the guy say that has you spooked on this? Also if he has a title that isnt marked salvage or rebuilt I would def ask whats up with that. As always if your not comfortable with the car or the deal or theGUY... Dont do it.
