I'm not arguing that, just stating my personal taste. i like to see the AK's kept nice and simple. leave the 12 lbs of tactical accesories to the ARs. :bigthumb
but if thats what you like than looks good!

Looks good Kelly. As far as the 12lbs of accessories I think a plain AK looks like a 300 piece of shit. With a little odd and ends it looks like something nicer.

Wow, you ruined that AK. :( All for show I guess. That optic will never hold a zero mounted on the dust cover. U should have used the scope mount on the left side of the reciever, thats what its there for!

Good eye I just noticed scope mount also. Kelly I have one of the brackets still in the pack if you need it.

I only modded my AK a little. I put a side folding tapco stock on it. It changed the whole feel of it. The wood butt stock was just too short and it would knock my ear muffs off. I also clear coated the wood. It was like sandpaper on my cheek!!!

I bought the replacement top cover that had the scope rail with it. Its not just mounted to the dust cover

You can find them for as cheap as around $300, the AK's best quality is its affordability compared to other assault rifles.

That's still too high for me. I bought mine all for under 200. They are still feeding on the hysteria of a democratic congress and prez. Thanks tho! I may even get one in late spring if I can work it. I have had some nice ones, just thinking about getting another for about a year now.

Depends on the build.
I like to keep mine AK plain and simple as well.
Iron sights, that is all.
But I keep them all simple my AR is simple as well.
Not a big fan of optics, lights, and things of the sort.
They only tend to get in the way.
My last rifle stand off lasted about 2.5 hours. Adding the weight of an optic, light, rails and the sort, is of no fun or use to me.
Being at the ready for 2.5 hours was enough for me.
Somewhere in the middle i moved behind a truck so that I could have a little better resting position but still be protected thanks to the engine block.

Yea, not all "AK's" are the same by any means. There are heavy barrelled milled versions that go for $800~1000. If you look at the variants of the AK action, you have milled Dragonovs and stamped Romac IIIs that fire the larger 7.62x54R, the Zastava M76 that fires 8mm Mauser..
I like AMD65s with a drum magazine- Commie Tommy.
The only gun I modified is my Yugo SKS, it was already missing the original stock so I went full bubba on it..
