Ok all you StangBanger Gamerz.. Let's have a friendly little competition. Post up your fastest Hot Lap on Nurburg Ring. The rules are this. The car must be a Class "A" Ford Mustang, and Shelby and Saleen Variations are allowed. Any Takers? :)

So far Ive ran a 8:16.301 in a 93 Cobra R Class A with an Performance Index of 600. All assist turned off except for Manual without the Clutch. I'll try and get some pics up to prove it.

Thanks! It's was my first run too. Ofcourse I had my starting lap where you start off from a digg which was around 8:30 I believe. And then my second lap is what I counted. I'm slowly starting to get used to the manual with clutch but it's so hard to downshift and effectively brake and keep my line all at the same time. Especially since i'm running witout ABS. I'll get it though. This is finals week for me so I can't devote too much effort into the game right now.

Since I can't seem to figure out how to edit my original post I'll just announce it like this. For those of you that are going to try and do this. Do not count the first lap in which you start from a stand still. That way you can race against your ghost and improve upon your lap times.

8:41.817 was my first try in the '93 Cobra R. I uploaded the video "SBZ Challenge 1".

I swapped transmissions and changed my final gear and need to do another set of runs. I think I can get it down to 8:30.xx

Man, I definitely have my work cut out for me. 8:34.882 with 3.53 rear gear. I need to drop that down to a ~3.47 to get me back up to my top speed of 164mph 3.53 is limited to 161mph.

I did pretty good in the D-class Firebird WS6 in the regular races. :bigthumb

A-Class Shelby GT500 so far was my best at 8:24.xxx

I think SlowRS has a good idea, instead of just doing time trials, we could do a drag race series Fords Vs Chevy, etc.

damn wish i wasn't here in the hospital still id be all over this. I jus got the new forza and its a bad ass game. I loved the original. ill have to upload some pics and times when we get to take our son home

Congrats on the child.

There wasn't a time limit placed on the challenge, just a Class and Car. Post up times when you find a free hour to T&T.

FWIW, my GT500 untuned was faster than my Cobra R tuned. I'm still working on getting the GT500 tuned.

I've been playing with some LightFighters on COD:MW2. I don't GP any more. Just party up with guys I can tolerate and we usually roll the competition. :bigthumb

8:19.640 with the '93. :rolleyes: I def don't have a 8:16 or better in this thing. It's time to look at the GT500 or Cobra R. The old fox is a handful. :D

LOL yeah she is, Ive got the 5.0 Cammer in mine. It's definitely a squirly car even with full suspension and tire upgrades. Some fine tuning of the diff helped though. Ive had finals to keep my pretty busy the last couple of weeks. But I'm in the process of building a modern stang now, I should be sub 8's after tonight.

Ah... that's how you got it so fast. I stuck with the stock block.

Well you can make just as much power and more out of the stock engine. My cammer has the stock 453hp. I mainly put it in there because is it sounds so badass and it revs out nicely. My real life car is an S2000 so Ive kinda grown accustomed to that. I'm using a controller, Ive gotten used to that. It would be fun to have a wheel though.
