ps3 help

ok i need some help with a ps3, i got it used from my gf mom but dont have remotes or anything just the game box will anything from a ps2 work with the ps3. is there a start up screen when you turn it on because she was saying she dont even know if it works and would like to get it working if it dont

The RCA cable from the Ps2 will work with the Ps3 and the power cord is the same as a PC's.

ok thank you man with that info, got it hooked up and turned it on and i am not getting anything i guess i will take it to game stop and see what they say

Is is set to use the hdmi output or use the rca cables??? That will make a difference.

i dont know i took it to game stop and they said it looked like it was dropped and it is messed up i dont have no remotes for it or anything just trying to figure out if it is any good or can be fixed or what the deal with it is

the easiest way to find out things about the ps3 is to got to playstations website and look for the owners manual for the model you have. Read that. It should answer any questions you have about it. You can reset your ps3 to read if its HDMI or RCA cables. I know that, with, my ps3 that I can use the RCA cables but the connection to the back of the PS3 is an HDMI connecton. I personally really like my PS3 better than the xbox 360.
