I've driven one, they are a decent entry level road race car. Most of these were originally built by Roush. They have been driven hard but very well maintained!

Even comes with a trailer!

I think I'd pass, even though it was maintained, it has led a hard life. 24k miles, how hard laps do you think that is?

Is it just me or does it look a bit older than 24 K under the hood? Maybe it's just from being beat to hell and back.

I dunno I think you'd be hard pressed to buy a cobra track prep it and a trailer for 13K....... they claim they put 30k in the cars.....

At the most that is what that car is worth. some pretty good deals going around on road race cars given the poor economy.

I know of a few cars in that price range that are alot more car for the money.

and that trailer he has would probably be good enough to get it home if that from the looks of it.

so you road race right Steve Yes, been doing it a few years with nasa.
we race all over. road Atlanta, Barber, road America, watkings glenn, vir, mid-ohio etc etc.

many ways to get involved. my advice is don't, lol it's a addiction for which there is no cure except to get more involved. I Use to do the drag race thing but that is boring compared to door to door racing around some of the best tracks in the country.

Our local region is www.nasagreatlakes.com they have a driver education program that you can bring a normal car into with driver coaching. some events they offer a 1 hour entry for like $60 dollars just to check it out. I believe they call it hyperdrive.

I run in AMERICAN IRON Most cars are 320 to 360 rwhp depending on weight.AMERICAN IRON EXTREME is pretty much run what you want. Paul Fessler car is around 725 rwhp From what I've been told.

It is big fun.

is that a vid of you driving? that's freakn awesome I've been in a cart a few times at Putnam other than that never been on a track it looks fun as hell........ I'm not so much on the drag racing it's cool just more appealing going door to door I guess.... think I'll check it out would be fun to do the 1 hour or even with an instructor....

is that a vid of you driving? Not me A good friend. I can't figure out how to do all the internet video things. That is about a 1700 video setup he has in that car. same car As I have though. That Video is from this year nationals out at Miller in salt lake city. My car is new only had a coupl eraces on it and I couldn't justify the time and cost for this year based on what I had to bring.

We race Putnam couple times a year and it will be rally nice when Bluegrass opens. I'm sure when they open they will be doing test and tune nights or days.

If you are interested, I'm sure you can hang/pit with Steve or I (I'll be running most of the NASA events this year I hope).

You can start at the HPDE #1 level - you'll get an instructor that will ride along and help you refine your skill and probably get you going faster than you ever thought you would. Don't sweat having the right car. I have seen folks show up with a stock Escort/Focis and not only have the time of their lives, but learn a bunch too. I'll bet your daily driver has more road performance ability than you would ever think.

But be warned - its like a crack pipe, after your first hit you'll be in deep. There is NOTHING like honking along a a buck-50 on the back straight of Mid-Ohio, cramming on the brakes and diving into that hard right hander...all with someone right at your door.

Putnam is a great track to learn at! There is nothing to hit (except for the last turn) should you have brain freeze. You might damage your pride and get mud/dirt all over your car, but it is really safe. Your instructor will move you along at your own pace, he will push you but he'll also keep you safe.

Try it sometime!

oh for sure I'd love to hang/pit that would be sweet with either of you, I'd say my DD handles pretty well but that's on the list for next year is some kinda suspension upgrade. Yea I've seen a few guys miss that last turn at Putnam and make a nice lil dust cloud lol.... I use to just go up there to watch some of the factory TRD guys (I had a Supra) practice and there would always be a few Porshe guys and a Vette or two it was fun just watching...... I can only imagine actually driving..... I'm going to check it out maybe do that HDPE level 1 so you're saying I shouldnt use this as a way to quit my crack addiction lol

the history of it is neat but honestly the car and trailer both look like huge pieces of shit.
