I got up this morning to warm the car up for working & there was a card & gift card on the windshield from a anonymous person thanking me for being a Veteran!! This was very cool!:bigthumb

That's the kind of stuff I like to hear about, finally we as Citizens are respecting the ones who have and who do serve. If you dont mind me asking what was the gift card to?

It was very nice to be recognized, I served in the Army for 8 1/2 years, was in Grenada & Panama, made it back with no injuries or post traumatic disorders. (VERY GRATEFUL!) The gift card was for La Rosa's $25.00!

Now that is cool...me and a friend of mine entered the service at the same time...I got out right at the start of the Gulf War but my friend wasn't so lucky...he's been messed up ever since (mentally). But he has gotten better :)

Happy Vetern's Day!

It takes its toll on people in different ways, counciling helps a ton, mens groups help also. I looked at it as a job & nothing else, I was paid to do a specific job & Uncle Sam was my employer, he depended on me to do my job to the best of my ability like any employer would expect, sounds strange however it worked for me.

God Bless your friend, hope he gets the help he needs!

I dont think anybody can understand what its like mentally afterwards unless you have served. Ive heard many stories from Vets and it never gets old I always love listening to what they have to say and their experiences.

Thanks for serving.

You looked at it in a great way and it has helped your conscience, that's why you have no issues to deal with. This is what alot of the military needs to come to terms with before they go to combat. Before I went to Kuwait, I used a similar thought. "It's going to be him or me and it's not going to be me." I was quite relaxed when we went and not worried.

Back on topic, thanks for protecting our freedom. :bigthumb
