If so where did you find the bolt to angle the the filter? Or what did you use to use an oil filter?

John,
Are you trying to put a filter relocation kit on it, or just a regular threaded adaptor?
Either way, if you want to put the regular threaded adaptor on it, you can get those from Ford for a good price. You just need a HUGE allen key to put them in, Freeze the adaptor and put red loc-tite on the threads when you put it in. May have to use a small butane torch to heat the area on the block.

Ford wants 80 bux for that adapter I cant see spending that for a oil filter adapter

80 for the adaptor or the kit to point the filter forward????
All you need is that double-ended threaded stud... and those if my memory serves me..were only 18 bucks!
Did you talk to Tom Glasscock in the parts dept. at Mt Orab Ford? he is the man...

I think he may have misunderstoood what you needed. Those studs are cheap. A lot cheaper than the actual "relocation kit" that you were saying...

Explorer motors wont have the oil filter stud unless they stopped using them after 97...

Don't try to take one out of another motor... they wont have the allen key hole in them, and you'll chew them up trying to take them out with a pair of pliers

Just go back to Ford and talk to Tom again, tell him you just need the threaded piece that threads into the block.
Waaay cheaper than an actual relocation kit.
