KENTON COUNTY, Ky. -- A teenager is in the hospital after an accident at a Northern Kentucky drag strip parking lot.

Police say a 16-year-old boy was sitting in the bed of a pickup truck in the parking lot of the Thorn Hill Drag Strip around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Investigators say the driver of the pickup did not know the teen was in the bed, and began to drive across the lot.

The boy fell from the bed of the truck, hitting his head on the pavement.

A medical helicopter transported the teen to University Hospital in Cincinnati. His name and current condition have not been released.

The Kenton County Police Department is investigating the accident.

My sister-in-law and neices watched it happen. I still don't know who the kid was, but I've known the drivers family basically my whole life.
