Thats the reason I don't have one. There ok as long as they can tell the difference between a burglar and a kid. I can't.

Pits are some of the smartest dogs out there. Actually preferred by some police agencies over German Shepards. They can tell the difference between burglars and children.

There are no bad dogs.....just bad owners.

I've seen both sides of the Pit issue.

Then again I spent 4 hours in Covingtion waiting on a cop or owner to come claim a pit that was running lose. Collar had the name Captain with phone number, I called it every 15 minutes. He was VERY well behaved....even though a cat was across the street at the church.

Started out I was at a friends house just north of 20th when a dog ran out into the intersection....."wohoo I'm free!"....I yelled "Hey, come here!" just to get him out of the road and damned if he didn't come right to me.

We ended up feeding him a package of Bluegrass Jalapeno Metts, fresh bowl of water, he was just hungry and looking for a home. Being around new folks he would sit on command.

We started getting hungry, chained him to a sturdy pole, gave him a ottoman to lay on. He jumped right up on it can curled up. I really felt bad about putting the big chain on him, but was all we had.

Officer showed up about 1 am, we explained and Captain reacted on commands, wasn't hostial toward the cop. Matter of fact jumped right into the back of the cruiser and laid down. Officer said he won't mind keeping him if not claimed.

Hope Captain got back home or found a new owner that would care for him.

I wonder if those Metts ruined the cop car????? LOL!

I have 2 Pitbulls and 1 American bulldog and the Pitbulls are the absolute best dogs you could ever have. The most loyal companions anyone could ever ask for.....like Adam said "there are no bad dogs.....just bad owners". This is the absolute truth.......thanks to "primitive animals" like Michael Vick the Pitbull unfortunately gets a bad reputation.

That dog did what it was made for. I have a doberman that lets me know if anyone or anything sets a foot in my yard or driveway. She stays by myside no matter what, best dog i've had.

That's what mine is is a staffy and he's the best dog I've ever seen I know people are partial to their own dogs but this one's pretty different, you just talk to him and he understands what you're saying....... best dog ever and I'll never own a different type than a bully bread best all around dog there is he can do it all, fetch, swim, loves to rid in the car, very protective of his family can't say enough good about them.....
