Is the type of trans a secret or something?

Ref401A....ouch. Look for a used one first. Do not expect that to be cheap. First determine if it is worth saving. They were very prone to ripping out converter splines which can be fixed by replacing the torque converter. Did it stop moving suddenly?

They were much better back when Dave Tidwell and myself worked there.
Mike is a good guy but you'll have to put a second mortgage on the house to have them do it.

Thanks for the help guys!
You start driving and then after about 5-6 miles it quits I dont uderstand? it is a 99 I was thinking that maybe trans is not bad? The truck is in good shape and is a 4x4. I wonder if it is a eletronic issue or something?

Electronics will not cause a transmission to stop moving. They will make it failsafe to 2nd or whatever they preprogrammed it to do. What you are saying is it warms up and quits moving, yeah thats probably a fried clutch pack, it's done.
