It absolutely drives me nuts to be behind someone in the fast lane and they are doing 55 mph while trying to text or navigate on their cell phone! I drive a couple of hundred miles each day and this happens too often. I think Im gonna make a sign that says "hang the f...ing cell phone up and drive!" At least get over in the damn slow lane if you cant do more than one thing at a time! Does this drive anyone else crazy or is it just me?

yes, I see it all the time. Typically when I see a terrible driver "someone who swerves, fails to use signals, cant keep speed, cuts me off, gets the middle finger and/or honked" has a phone in their hand, that is a huge statistic, idk if anyone else has noticed that or not. Its dangerous enough to be driving while talking, espicially the grandmothers I see trying to type a number with the phone 1" from their face. But its even worse and more dangerous when going 55-65 mph on the highway.

What I hate the most is people who pull out right in front of you in the fast lane and go slow. I usually throw a good middle finger out the window towards them, drop it into 2nd using the other lane and cut them off. Usually gets the message across.

How about the f**kin cell phone users that text while in the damn fast lane. On my way to Chicago over the weekend i counted 6 idiots texting while in the fast lane. Our great goverment needs to ban cell phones while driving.

I drive 70 miles round trip Mon-Fri, and see this damn near EVERYDAY!
Another thing that pisses me off is when some POS drives to far left or right of the lane and flips up rocks and debris onto my car/truck! GRRRRRRR!!!

I find shooting at them is very effective.
Seriously though, how do you propose the gov't ban cell phone usage while driving with wireless earsets and such? It would just be another inane law on the books. There are laws in place now to pull people over for swerving, obstructing the flow of traffic and so on. With a 'ban' in place, people will still talk, text and do whatever in their car. I see the dangers of cell phone usage every day driving 400-600 miles nightly.
My opinion is that a ban will only make people more dangerous by trying to conceal the phone while doing it.
What would be next? Banning drinking a soda, or eating a candy bar...oh wait...those won't be a distraction issue because our government will tax the shit out those, so we won't be able to afford them. Maybe the answer is taxing cell phones and airtime usage to the point where the only people that can afford them have chauffers.

I hate when people like to ride in fast lane side by side not passing! GET OVER and let me pass! Im getting a window sticker, so that when the see me coming in rear view mirror it says "MOVE OVER". I seen one on a truck it was cool. I drive maybe 70 miles daily and it seems like everyday day there is more and more idiots on the road that really SUCK at driving. I can not stand people just driving in the fast lane for no reason. every morning there is some moron driving in the fast lane with 20 cars behind them trying to get around. I could go all day on this subject! LOL

It's even better when it is a cop, going below the speed limit, and everyone is too chickenshit to pass him. Once one person sacks up and passes him, then it's 'open the gates...we're free!!!'. I think they do it to see how many cars they can stack up...or they are on their cell phones while typing on their in car laptops.

What I hate is people that fly up on your ass at a redlight then stop so hard that the front end nose dives and they finally get stop like 2" from your car. I really hate it when I'm in my Stang because I'm pretty sure if one of the tards hits me I will be forced to punch them out for being so damn stupid.

I personally dont think they should ban cell phones while driving per say, while alot of drivers cant use them and still concentrate while driving I just dont think it would change anything. I for one have always been able to text and call people while driving but yet keep my focus and eyes glued on the road.

I don't agree i think they should be banned. There's some people have a hard enough time driving without anything on then throw a phone in the mix then all hell breaks loose. A cell phone is a distraction plain and simple. The number of accidents have increased since cell phones have been used more and how about deaths. Chicago banned them a few years back and the fines for using them are high. Now if your in an accident that causes death you might as well kiss your ass good bye for a while

What burns me is when people just absolutely have to pass you just to get in front of you and turn... I think those people should be drug out in the street and shot.

I average 800-1200 miles per week on average. Averaging 2.5 hours drive time from customer to customer generates a lot of windshield time. (Currently in Miami, FL but flew in - yeah my arms are tired). Much of that wasted becauase of "pacers" and truckers running side-by-side for miles and miles. Tennessee is among the very worst for this. I drove for 37 miles on I-75 North before I got 2" more than the length of my car and shot the gap. I swear, a trucker and a full sized van had traffic backed up for a good quarter mile behind me. i could people in rear view mirror giving the clear-out-the-window, "I number one sign" as they shot by those two.
Ohio and others should pass and enforce a "stay right except to pass" law like they have in Kentucky, California, Texas, and other states. Then ENFORCE IT!! One thing you never did in California was poke along in the left lane. I knew people who got tickets for "impeding traffic" for driving in the passing (#1 lane) on the interstates out there.
Sorry I got going, but you hit on my biggest driving peeve. Oh and don't even bring up peckerheads that don't signal lane changes or only signal lane changes when they are announcing to the world "I WANT OVER RIGHT NOW!!!"

That is the one!
My friend was complaining the other day about people speeding because he was holding someone up. I asked him; do you know what their hurry was for? he said; NO! I said; that is right, so stay out of their way! One thing I noticed is that the worst drivers always claim that they are good drivers and that they can use their phone while driving. (I never been in a accident only caused 200)

Driving 120 miles a day around and through Cincinnati........you'll see why I drive a POS 4 door Honda with full coverage.
It is not if, but WHEN is someone gonna hit my car in the rear and total it out.
I don't text and drive......I don't even have texting on my cell phone plan so I'm charged for each one I get.......
I will takl on my phone while driving, usually calling dispatch to get route updates, but other than those 5 minutes a day, if I get a call, I'll call back when it is reasonable.

Hands free needs to be mandatory, and email / txt'n illegal.
I'm sorry guys speeding around on the right and cutting people off is going to do nothing more then make the problem worse. Some one may get hurt and or shot, you never know what the other jerk has in his/her car. Trust me i've lived in much larger cities.
be safe out there and enjoy your whips..

BUG! Drives me absolutely crazy, especially down here on 52 Dragway! I'm trying to make it home from work, and you got these crazy bitches texting and talking on their phones in the fast lane. I pull the old Vinny trick on them quite often though, I know it's WRONG, but sometimes I get so aggravated, I do it.
Go around them, then get in their lane and slam on your brakes! Talk about waking their dumb asses up! If they hit you from behind, it's THEIR fault. ;)

So if texting is going to be illegal while driving, whats the view going to be on reloading a handgun while driving?

I think the sooner they pass a law regarding texting and talking on a cell phone the better. People drove for years without a cell phone in the car. Every young driver I pass has a cell phone in their ear. I've also seen law enforcement officers doing the same. Recently I've made it a point to look around at those driving and its disturbing.( Everyone is doing it)The texting according to the radio is more dangerous then driving while intoxicated.

I can't stand people who text while driving...but some short phone calls in open traffic is OK.
Enforcement will be a PITA. What if I take out my phone to delete past calls? A cop could think I'm texting when I don't even have a text plan on my phone. Thats right it is a PHONE and thats how I use it!
When calling dispatch on my route I have places that I will call from. Say 6:15 PM EB on 275 after Montgomery Road IF all is moving smoothly. If traffic is slow and alot of brake lights, I'll wait until I get off at Milford.
I will say this about cell phone usage even on a open road, you won't remember anything you passed, like as if you were driving drunk. Set cruise on 70 mph at night, no traffic, chat with a good girl FRIEND for 2 hours on the drive home from Detroit, Toledo to Dayton.......somehow I forgot about Lima and Findlay on the drive.
Thats when I fully understood the dangers.

That's all BS. I've driven many, many miles that I don't remember shit. I could be tired, daydreaming, thinking about what I need to do at home, reminiscing about an old girlfriend, etc......
Talking on the phone, is just another distraction. Not really any different than have a conversation, with a passenger. Changing CDs is probably just as bad. Dialing isn't so good.
TEXTING, is a whole other deal. I couldn't do it. I realize, that there are people who can do it and never look down at the phone. Reading texts, well, I don't care who you are, you have to look at the phone.
I'll agree, that it would be hard to police. I could be scrolling my phone book for a number and it would look like I'm texting. Whats the difference, it's just as distracting.

and we cant forget about the mapquest marauders clogging up streets and turning without signals or slowing down cause their face is buried in a 5 page turn by turn printout...i will admit, i am guilty of texting while driving, as well as reading directions, but thats what redlights and backups are for...lol

Actually it's 50-50 if it's their fault unless you can prove you had a reason to stop suddenly. It all depends on the cop with all these road rage laws now.

Not to sound like I'm against female drivers,BUT, it seems like everytime I see something happening with cell phone drivers it is a woman, same way with accidents.
Had a woman cut me off and she was on the phone, another woman ran me off the road almost into another car, again, it was a woman driver. Saw a woman driver on the cell chatting away at a stop sign while the inbound traffic had the right away and she then pulled right out in front of the incoming traffic that didn't have to stop and the car that hit her and her chevy camero was a guy. All the guy could do was shake his head, because I'm assuming what he was shaking his head about was the exact same thing I was thinking.
I see it more so than male drivers. Am I right or wrong ?

I'll join in the ducking of thrown objects, but I do see more women then men on cell phones who aren't paying attention.
I'm very serious about getting an in car camera to proof and entertainment of the shitty drivers in the area.

:yup:
There are already laws to cover this...if the cops choose to enforce them.
If you weave in your lane, you can be pulled over. That's how they go fishing for OVI's. It's just the cops don't give a shit unless it's after 11pm.
UNLESS...you want some bullshit like this mandated by the government, STFU about rediculous new, nearly impossible to police, inane laws.
