I have a little cousin who owns a Grand Prix and think that bolting a turbo kit to it will make it run 10's. When he told me what he had just ordered and said that he was going to run low 11's high 10's, I couldn't hold the laughter too long before I just busted out and hung up on him.

This boy has never even been to the track, and now thinks that a 17 sec car with a Turbo will land him in the 10's. LMAO. I can't help it.

Have anyone ever had someone come to them and say something this stupid that you just bust up laughing hysterically.

I work with a guy that tells me he had a 92 LX with a cobra motor and trans that put out 450hp. No power adder. Yea right.....

Also his brother had a slightly modded SS 01 Camaro that had the same 450hp. Now i'm saying STFU......

He drives and Audi, what should i expect???

Built right, it will run 10's-11's...but just slapping on a turbo kit, no way. Many other supporting mods and tuning needed, but it CAN be done.

The car is completely stock. He calls me and says...."guess what? I just spent 2k and now I will run high 10's." This is why I am cracking up. I asked him who was doing the tune and he says "what do you have to tune?". I wish they had the red button like the Staples commercials that made them understand. lol.

lowers civic
puts on "lightweight" bronze wheels
cat back exhaust - sounds unhappy
COLD AIR INTAKE OMG
carbon fiber hood
blows tire from not aligning after lowering
stockers in front, bronze wheels in back
installs primered M3 fenders on red car
buys nitrous kit
paints valve cover red (WHOA)
breaks door handle
installs header
installs nitrous
installs billet oil cap
runs to much nitrous on stock internals/motor
motor goes boom
is now saving to swap to a B2948r290r40234.542

Lesson learned? Failure is imminent...

Which is why I love mine.

Stock SOHC motor, intake/header/exhaust add 75 shot, add slicks, run 13.1's with ease.

These same "ricer" people also ruin Mustangs and F Bodys. Like the yellow 429 BBF Fox in Springfield, OH for sale.

lol... down here in Grant county almost everyone is a ricer (oh shit, now I'm going to racist hell... remember the "...makes johnny a ricer" thread?). Anyway, if you talk to them they'll all tell you they're 13's etc. There's one guy with an absolutely beat/black primer/loud exhaust because it has holes rusted in it/cobra badged/"canadian cobra"/400hp/POS fox body dude that swears he runs 11s or some such shit. (Yes, he's a ricer too.)

Being in the somewhat unique position I've been in managing the track I'd just hand every one of them a card for 1 free pass. I even offer to pay for gas and a cheeseburger. The deal? I offer them $20 for every tenth they can run below 1 full second higher than their claim, but I get $10 for every tenth over their claim. Even with the second to boot, and the 2:1 odds, I'm sure if any of them took me up on it I'd make money. Usually though, it at least shuts them up.
