Ok so I left my car in the woods for about 6 months when I got it out there is a big hole in the floor pan. Is this something an average guy with a welder can do? should I weld it in? Where do I get one? or should I just patch the 10 inch damaged area?
Someone please chime in with some ideas

if you decide to buy a whole floor pan you can buy it through cjponyparts or 50resto.com I think i paid 110 dollars for one.

I am taking a lot of the car and selling it in parts. I will have it outside in my driveway under a tarp. If you bring an extension cord you can plug it in on my porch. If you are off on monday I am off and will be working on a buddies car that day at my house. I will pm you my address but let me know what day you will be out to get it.

I welded a patch in my floor. It's not hard at all... but then again, I also put a roof on my car too, and patching the floor was a hell of a lot easier than the roof job. I just cut a piece of sheetmetal into a close shape, and hammered it until it was close, and welded it in there....
The bitch of cutting a section of floor out, is that it's connected to the firewall and front tourque box, and not to mention the rocker panel on the inside.
How big is the hole John? got a pic?

Thats about the size of the hole that developed on my floor from sitting in my buddy's yard for a year.
Just get a piece of decent gaged sheet metal, and a hammer, and some shears and cut a piece to fit, hammer it into place, and make sure you tack it in place and not try to run a bead with the welder, you will melt thru your already weak floor.
