Got the motor loaded up and taking her in for a check up new rings ect. Also would like BES to just check everything out to make sure it's the right combo
for the power adder I have since I changed combos so many times.

After dealing with several yahoos up in Dayton think im going to give BES a try unless I here of any horror storys.

anyone ? I talked to them at several NMRA events and appear to be top notch.

You can't go wrong with BES. We regularly turn Steve Giffords BES built 4V well over 9000 rpm. They do exceptional work.

The only "horrror" story, is their price (which isnt that bad)...BUT you get what you pay for! My lil 408 is going strong after 8 years!! (Knocks on wood)

I wouldn't trust anyone else.

Tony and crew did the 3 angle valve job, pressure tested the head, and flowed it.

Yes, for the Honda.

I wouldn't let anyone else assemble my engine. And for what you get, the price is very very reasonable.:bigthumb

I have allways had good luck with BES. They built my Factory stock motor that is still going strong after many years. My currant 408 has had who knows how many passes on it and it still is working as advertised

I hear Papa John himself has a BES sticker on his new found camaro. Can't argue with Papa John. LOL

what does he get $ wise to assemble a 408?

with just being a local truck guy, and hearing things, I've only ever heard excellent things about BES.

I am sure every combo is different. I bought my 408 used. It was built and dynoed by BES. Victor Jr heads, Vic jr intake, mild solid roller, Stock 69 block, Pump gas motor that has gone high 9's in great air on motor. Runs 10.25 all day everyday and mid 9's on a little NOS shot. There is really nothing radical about my motor. Every thing is just matched to the Cubes. If I did it again I would use a dart block. This is the time of the year to build one before the class stuff gets their rules this winter.

Took it down to them friday we found two things wrong already. The cam that Benett racing designed for me last year.... well lets just say it wasn't anything special & the Super Victor intake was never machined to fit the valley, Huge lip that the intake runners ran into. So who knows what he's going to find when he tears into it.

Thanks guys

Just had a friend have a 383 stroker kit redone by them with custom Ross pistons and they repaired a custom set of heads and everything is top notch and what I would have expected to pay for the services they delivered.

The only bad story I've heard is when some mechanic swapped out a cam and raised the dynamic compression, caused detonation and then damaged an LT1. He then blamed BES when it was the mechanics fault for changing the set-up and not recalcualting the compression ratio.

I had Tony and gang help me with my combo for the Road Race car. I am limited to horsepower (based on weight). I had a bogey number I wanted at the wheels, we worked out the combo and the chassis dyno results were within 5 hp of what I wanted. It just doesn't get any better than that!
