Freezer is not cold. Fridge side is not cooling at all now. Light comes on, and when I vacced out the coils and stuff under it, a part on the lower side of the freon tank buzzes. Then stops buzzing. I think that is the problem.

sounds like the compressor is thermal cycling.....go buy some ice for the night

I believe that is the compressor/pump. Not good. By the way, thanks a bunch for the great carpet cleaning job!!!

No problem Mike. It did clean up well!! The wife is looking at new ones now. Already filled the ziplocs with ice and packed it full. And the beer is in a cooler. LOL!!

once it cools down.....the compressor, not the beer.....plug it back in with your hand on the compressor if you can. You should be able to feel if it is locked up or not.

Locked compressor is about as much to fix as getting a new fridge.

Lowes is open till 10?

Same thing happened with our drier, just stopped working one day, went to Sears, hour later, problem solved! My lady was happy and got a shiney new drier and the reason she was happy is because it wasn't her birthday or any other major holiday when I bought her an appliance!

Your money would be better spent buying a new fridge. Not only would you have a new fridge but I would bet that a new Energy Star fridge would cost you a lot less than your old one.

And the beer is in a cooler. LOL!!

Well yeah, gotta make sure the BEER is cold!

My washer crapped out on me yesterday. I heard it spinning, then it sounded like it just completely fell apart. I went downstairs and the clothes were sitting in water, it was draining out, but not spinning. It's done. I can't complain though, I bought that washer and dryer from a friend 7 years ago for $25! Plus, I have a spare in the garage, my sister's dryer went out a few months ago, so they got the big stackables, and gave me their old washer. Now I'm waiting on a friend to stop by and help me switch them and I'll be back in business. :coo1:

Update. My wife went to Lowes today and got a new fridge. My bro and I picked it up. He has the pick up in the family now. LOL. Installed it with the ice water line. It is cooling now.
The repair guy showed up today too and said it was the starter for the compresser. 300 bucks. F that!!! Got a new one. May have a new target for the farm party!!!!!!
