SOMEWHERE on VHS tape I have a PBS special where he jammed with Eddie Van Halen and explained his multi-tracking setup.

It really is amazing what he pioneered. Not only the solid-body electric guitar, but he also created multi-track recording. Pretty much every song recorded today uses this process.

As one blog put it, Les Paul is to modern music what Alexander Graham Bell is to modern communication.
