Hey all,
Doing a mod motor swap in a 66 Mustang. Just kind of a spontaneous decision, don't know what all I'm going to need electronics wise, but any of that stuff would help too please. Thanks,
Bart

Sent you a PM. If you're going to try to talk me out of it because of fitment issues I have it figured out. I'm grafting a front clip off a 99 Mustang.

hey Bart, are you looking for something to drop right in or are you planning to go through it first?

I have a 07 gt trans . buy my trans and get a 4.6 3valve. ford racing makes I nice plug and play electronics kit to make it run in anything. just installed one in my car and it's excellent. $400 will get my trans. going to a 6spd. still in car. come down run it through the gears.

A 66' 3 valve would be a whole new concept :)

Definitely want a drop and go deal. If it doesn't work and i need it gone through well then you win some you lose some. I have a guy dropping off a 93 4.6+auto tomorrow. He says when it was yanked some of the wires were cut and doesn't have a computer. I figure that's not bad for $300. I know i'm going to need fuel lines and the whole shbang if I keep it EFI. Mike called and said it might be easier to go carbed and I might do that. The ignition system is what worries me, will need some type of management system for that. Uless I can figure out some type of distributor setup. I am still blind on this, I usually get what I can fin first and move for there. I'm not sure what oddities this engine coming in tomorrow will have in store for me.
Of Course I'd love a 32 valve with T56 but I'm kinda getting tired of banging the gears. Thinking of making a cruiser/daily driver the wife could jump in and enjoy too.
So, I need to get educated on these. I'm totally skipping the fox body EFI era jumping from 66 to SN95.

That's a great price, I'll keep it in mind.

I would suggest using the 4r70w even if you do the 3v motor. A manual valvebody is an option.
