Got stung this morning while cutting my grass in the front yard. There is a nest of ground bees out there. Tonight when it gets dark, I will get about 12 oz of gas and dump it down the hole in the ground. I have to do this every year but this is the first time I got stung.

That hurts. Last year my head hit a bird house and a bumble bee stung the back of my neck. I think the surprise is almost as bad as the sting.

The fumes from the gas is what kills em. It dissolves the wings and displaces the oxygen so they suffacate. About 10 minutes later I will torch it. LOL!!! Hee Hee!!!!

My ankle is about twice it's normal size. This sucks. It doesn't hurt, just itches....and where I got stung, it stings. Almost dark here, time for the bees to DIE!!!!

well howd it go? I get I guess wasps making homes in the windows and on the garage overhang. I am such a little girl I get in my truck, crack the window just enough to get the little red tube through and drive around the house shooting the nests with brake cleaner and starting fluid. Kills everything.... quick. Then I get out of the truck and finish the job.... I am such a little girl.

other than ice it looks like you can take a antihistimine, benadril is suggested.

I used electrical cleaner. They would curl up and die. I couldn't figure out how so many got into the car so I watched one I thought was dead. After 2 minutes they would thaw out and take off again.

ha ha, I hate wasps and bees. I know they serve a purpose and I do like honey but I hate the little buggers.

Ground bees suck. I got stung real bad back in high school while mowing my parent's. I probably got nailed 30-40 times on my arms and head.

50 mg of benedryl should do the trick for the stings. as for eliminating them... i use raid and we buy that stuff by the case! i have a horrible problem with wasps around my house. and i bet this year alone i have been stung at least a dozen times. and yes tannerite is good at my house just don't think the wife would approve its use around the pool! lol!!!

Honey bees...make a paste out of baking soda (Arm & Hammer) and water. put a dab on the stung location. It's the old acid/base thing.

As a side note, never grab a stinger and pull it out, you'll squeeze more of it out this way. Take a flat object (spoon handle, knife blade, comb etc. ) and scrape the stinger out.

As far as the nest is concerned, you have any Sevin dust at home?
http://www.gardentech.com/sevin.asp Sprinkle some in the opening of the hive.

I use the foaming wasp/bee killer. Clogs the hole up while they are going thru their execution!
