I realize there probably isn't going to be anything really good but are there any half-way decent hiking trails around Greater Cincinnati? I have done the Cincinnati Nature Center and something along those lines would be fine, preferably not any shorter(ideally 2-3hrs+ roundtrip). The wife and I have really started to enjoy hiking down around TN on a couple of vacations and I hear Hocking Hills is good but something closer(less than 45min-1hr from Anderson) we could do every week or so would be great. I am trying to keep myself into a decent routine so I can tackle this (http://www.tongarirocrossing.org.nz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=27) with my family next year. :bigthumb

Not sure how long the trails are but you may want to venture up to John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge State Nature Preserve near Yellow Springs. It probably closer to an hour and a half from your house but I hear its pretty nice.

It's a little bit of a treck, but I will check that out, thanks!

Rachel went to school up that direction and had mentioned that. I think we might plan for that at some point this summer.
Looks like we are going to give this a shot on Friday:

AJ it's a bit of a Trek from up there but this place just outside Louisville is awesome!!!
http://www.bernheim.org/
It's a private research forest and arboretum. Blows any state park I have been to out of the water.
It's about an hour from me but well worth the trip they have lots and lots of trails of all different levels.
For a much closer but not as good alternative. Mt. Airy Forest has some pretty decent trails. So does Ault ParkYou can easily spend an afternoon there.
They aren't the greatest but better than nothing.

Red River Gorge located in the Daniel Boone National Park in KY would be a great place for what your looking for. Just have to watch the trails at night time, ive heard of people getting a few brewski's in them and not seeing some cliffs and drop offs and falling right off of them.

There's a 30 mile backpacking trail that goes around East Fork Lake with a few backcountry campsites. I was there about a month ago, it's pretty rough in places since the horses have torn it up.
If you go, wait until we've had a dry spell for a few weeks, it's usually very muddy in spots.

Yup, the "Steven Newman Worldwalker Perimeter Trail." We had looked into doing half during the day and having somebody pick us up and run as back to our cars afterward. Should be fun!

I'll second that - being wasted while walking back to camp from the falls is a terrible idea at night. Awesome place to go though.
