Anyone know of any good fishing spots along the Ohio river away from the city that you can fish from shore? Me and a couple of buddies want to fish the ohio sometime and we want to make a weekend out of it.

I have been trying to find some too. My dad has a buddy with a spot on the river but he is out of town. I'll post up where it is or any good spots that he knows of when he gets back.

I go to a place off of 52 East of 275. Where 52 turns into 4 lanes. There is a pull off on the right hand side. Park there, walk down the hill and there is a barge junkyard. You can sit out on the front of the barge and sit.

Hot water discharge is great in cooler weather. More of a boat spot though.

My boss told me today of a Clermont Co. resident Chris Rolph (my old school teacher in Williamsburg) that caught a 96lb catfish last week. It's a state record. The catfish was 36" in diameter in the mid section. Chris Rolph caught the fish on a 25lb test line and took him one hour to get the fish into his boat with his buddies help.
Apparently he tried to sell the fish to Pro Bass Shops, and few few other places. But they all declined on the offer. So he put it into his farm pond for now.
