I have a set of black Bullitt style wheels with a chrome lip. I was wondering if I could powder coat the black parts a matte or flat grey?
Something like this...

or

http://www.americaneaglewheel.com/images/categories/Boss-3380-Deep.jpg

Is this possible? Who can do it? What kind of price if so?

should be able to. its all about the prep. if the metal won't distort or melt at 450* it will be fine.

Funny you ask about that color I just ordered a couple days ago this color which is very very close. It is the color that HD uses on some of their motorcylces.

So is about the color you are looking for? Let me know if I can help.

Is this the color you were talking about?http://powderbuythepound.com/catalog/cust_images/warlockgray99.jpg
This is pretty close, maybe a few shades lighter.

Looking for a flat even color though, not like this one from the link...

So there is not problem removing or covering the black with this lighter color?

These two pictures are the same color. I'll have to shoot a sample so you can see what the color looks like in person. The bullit wheels you have now do that have the satin lip or the chrome lip and are the lips coated with a clear or bare?

I read that the sample is textured. I'm looking for a flat, non-textured finish.

The wheels have a chrome lip, and a clearcoated finish. He are the exact wheels.

From the site...
Stealth Black with Polished Lip. Black out your wheels for a sick stealth effect, but get the flash of high polished lips and have it both ways. Clearcoated to protect against roadchips and pitting, you also get the benefit of never noticing brake dust.

Those are Foose wheels. Pretty close to the same wheels on his '56 F-100. Another BADASS creation!

If I can be completely honest the best thing to do would sell your wheels and go buy the wheels. It would actually be almost cheaper than getting yours coated. They actually are not Foose wheels they just look alot like them. Here is the link to the site that sells them. http://www.jdwheels.com/ There is a thread over on corral about these wheels. BTW if you have the Dayton v/c's that are black w/ the Dayton logo, yes I was the one that did them. Not that I would not want to do them but you can actually buy those wheels about as cheap as it would cost to coat them.
