I was just wondering if anyone could help me out !!!
My son has a PS3 ( I believe it's the 40g, But not sure) He was playing a game
and then ejected it to watch movie, And it will not recognize any games or movies ??? I have tried different games, DVD's, And Blu-Rays, and NOTHING !!!

I went to Sony's online support, and even called their Customer Service ( What a JOKE) and they say the same thing, That I need to take it to an Authorized Service Center... So I was wondering if anyone on here knew what the problem is, Or is able to fix it for me ???

Let Me Know...

Thanks :bigthumb

Hold the power button down on the unit for 5 seconds untill it beeps like 3 times.Itll be reset.
Make sure to backup all game saved data, bacause it will be lost.

I had a problem similiar to this about a month ago.

How many different games/dvds have you put in there?

Turns out my problem was finger prints all over my games and dvds. It wouldnt read anything for me. Make sure the games are completly clean before inserting them into the console. I'd try this before you send it out for repair.

And if you all ready dont have one,buy a cooling fan for it.I did and you sure can feel it move some REALLY hot air out of the side of the console.

same thing happened to me, I had to send it back to Sony, they fixed it and sent it back to me free of charge. And by the way, you cant return a ps3 with a different receipt, the serial number is on the receipt for the unit.

I'm technologically challenged when it comes to all that stuff- that is what Chris is for ;) It seems like we have had a million problems with ours though. It is actually our 2nd one bc our input board went out or something like that and they didn't make a replacement board, so we had to get a new system. Which was a pain because my fiance purchased it on ebay and we didn't have a receipt. It used to overheat and shut off 30 minutes into a movie but we bought a fan and it's been tons better since.
