I watched his back yard fights. That one where the dudes eye ball was hanging out was wild.... Then I watched him get his butt kicked, quickly. He is a little girl when it comes to real fighting. I cant wate to see how long he lasts getting his butt kicked every day.

I think BJ Penn could beat his ass. I mean, when I first heard that Bas Rutten was training him, I thought two things:

1) WTF is Bas thinking?
2) Well, it IS Bas Rutten... maybe he can do something with him.

I've seen Kimbo's street fights. Incredibly unimpressive. He was spoon fed old washed up fighters like Tank. He was set up for Frank Shamrock, who everyone knew was a fight intended to be easy for Kimbo. One MMA journalist wrote, "it's regrettable EliteXC would line up an opponent so beatable." EliteXC was hinged on Kimbo popularity, popularity with people who obviously knew nothing about fighting.

Seth Petruzelli, the guy that knocked Kimbo out in 14 seconds, leaving him flailing helplessly on his back had this interesting tid bit to say.

"The promoters kinda hinted to me and they gave me the money to stand and throw with him, they didn't want me to take him down. Let's just put it that way. It was worth my while to try and stand up punch him."

Petruzelli took the fight on short notice, by the way, in Shamrock's place due to a training injury. Petruzelli was eliminated on the Ultimate Fighter 2 in the semis I believe. Then he walked through Kimbo, after Kimbo had been training with Bas. I don't give Kimbo much of a chance un UF10.

I'm not even sure how the promo guys can sleep at night trying to sell a fraud like Kimbo.

You have to give the guy at least a little bit of credit. He was approached by EliteXC and paid lots and lots and lots of money to be their headliner on network tv. How could he turn it down? Was he a good MMA fighter? Not really. But most MMA guys aren't good fighters when they first start out either.

It's not like Kimbo started up EliteXC to promote himself, someone else did it. Could he have passed on the money and walked away? Sure. But why the hell would he do that? That's a LOT of money, even if you make a complete fool of yourself. (Which he did.)

Dana saw that Kimbo wasn't a great fighter from the beginning and told people that the only way Kimbo would ever see the UFC is by going through the Ultimate Fighter. So Kimbo really wants to try it. I think it shows a little bit of humility to do it. It shows that he's willing to work for it. Do I think he'll win the show? Probably not, but he's got as good a chance as almost anyone else on there.

Kimbo vs Sean Gannon was what you would call a "real" fight. They wouldnt let the guy throw knees or elbows and he wore Kimbo the F out.

I'm hoping that he's made some big progressions since the last time we really saw him fight. I don't know if the last one really counts since he got knocked out so fast, but it's been what? 9 months since that fight, and probably a year since we saw him pop Thompson's ear? That's a long time to make improvements.

I think everyone wanted to see him win when he made his debut in EliteXC... I did of course, but he just don't have what it takes to fight at the UFC level IMO. Stick to youtube.
