Well I am pulling typical sean stuff and trading off my mustang for a porsche. Its a very very nice 1985 928s. V8 32 valve dohc 5 speed. Need a little here and there stuff but I have wanted this car for years now. Nada classic books this car at 11500 low to 15200 high. I really like being in the stangbangerz and want to stay. Is that going to be ok?

I have and I know. Great oppertunity for me to get a great deal on a car that sold new for 50,000. That was a long time ago but still kinda cool. I will get another mustang but I want the 03 or newer body.

Enjoy!!

Had a chance to get a Porsche years ago and a wise mechanic said: "You can't afford the parts".

You should buy it so Gene has somebody to hang out and talk Kraut with at the cruise-ins.

You are always welcome here, you might want to prepare yourself for the abuse tho.....

I'll start:

What is the difference between a porcupine and a Posche?

On a porcupine the pricks are on the outside!:lol:

Seriously, I have a buddy that road races the 928, its a fun and quick car!

Cool car. Just make sure you take care of it. The parts really aren't that expensive, but you CAN'T defer maintenance on a 928. Also, the head gaskets are known problem issues.

I would suggest joining the Pelican Parts (http://forums.pelicanparts.com/forumdisplay.php?f=15) board and hanging out in the 928 section to learn more about these cars.

A popular way to deal with the engine issues in these is an LT1/LS1 swap, btw...they fit in there pretty nicely.

928's were $44,000 new in 1984-1985, I remember sitting in a red one @ Northland.

yea, I know its not a car of that price now, but just to have a car someone paid that much for at one time is really appealing. This car is very clean, original paint, oil changed every 3000, timing belt done not to long ago. Has a small split in the dash and a few little inside cosmetic things. @ 105,000 miles. I am getting rid of alot of my toys to have this. nada classic value is through the roof. I have had a few porsches and I have enjoyed them all. I have always wanted the 928. I may even road race it a few times... Black horse:bigthumb
So keep the opinions coming, I really appreciate the input, Even the negative (facemelter) ... Ugly car:mad: I went for a drive and the owner showed me it had power. Didnt beat on it but we easily hit over 100mph several times and the handling with the 50/50 weight dist was amazing.
So keep it coming and thank you. It wont happen for a few days. (monday)

"Sometimes you just gotta say, what the fuck...make your move!"
Watch out for Guido the Killer Pimp...that Caddy he drives can hang with the 928!:lol:

I will, I dont know as of yet. My mustang has a minor exhaust leak where the pipe connects to the header pipe. He is being funny about that so I may just say the hell with it. I tried to fix it but the flange is bent up. We will see. I have gotten all sorts of offers for the car or the bike.
