Got a 1406 edelbrock with edelbrock intake on a
351 windsor with longtubes.Nothing special.I need to get this thing running right.Its running really rich.What do I need to turn this thing down a little.

Obvious thing, adjust the mixture screws which ya probably know.
Manual or Electric choke model ? Manual Choke models are set up richer.
Float Levels can make it rich. Mechanical Pump ? Fuel Pressure ?
What's the idle Vacuum ? Eddy's use (2) Vacuum "Pistons" to pull the rods down.
The rods go down into the jets to lean it out when vacuum is high enough.
Pistons have springs under them, there are different strength springs available
to "tune" the power enrichment circuit depending on engine vacuum.
And there's an old saying:
"90% of carb problems are ignition problems"
Has a good hot spark been checked for ? Not saying that's it, but it's a possibility.
Anything done to the advance curve on the distributor ?
Still running a PCV ? Crankcase vented ? PCV adds a lot of air at idle under the carb.
Does it have a secondary idle speed screw ?
Are the primaries opened to far at idle causing the boosters to drip ?
Just some ideas.

Crap thats alot of stuff.Maybe I should just buy a new holley carb.I dont know much about carbs,just enough that I can take an edelbrock apart and rebuild it.Thats about it.
Ill try to answer some of them.
Electric choke
Ignition is good
Mech pump at 5psi
Still have PCV
vacuum line from small passenger side port to distributor.
As far as I know it has secondary speed screw,and as far as I know the primaries are set correctly.Im going to pull it off again and go through it,I just wish I didnt have to buy a damn rebuild kit.Cant they make reusable gaskets like holley.
