Been thinking about getting one or the other. Can not make up my mind which one. I have always liked the xboxes, but with the ps3, on line is free. plus they play blue rays. Give me your pros and cons i know alot of you guys are gamers. Thanks

It is awesome! Blu Ray player... Free online (as long as you have internet)
I hear the 360 has better games though......

Wait for the price drop on the PS3. The PS2 out sold it last quarter so it should be dropping in price here soon.
I have played both. I own the 360 and have played alot of PS3 at a friends house and really other then the Blu Ray its about the same. Depends one what games you like.

I think they will be removing the blueray when the price drops. I have the ps3 and love it, but i have never heard anyone that owned a xbox 360 complain. Both will be a lot of fun.

I own the PS3,its awesome.Bluray is awesome.Free online is cool.
But all my friends have 360's,so im on thelookout for a 360.They are cheap and the same online as PS3,only you pay 50 a year for subscription.Isnt to bad since no one can glitch or you get banned from online game play.I say start with a 360 and then save for the ps3.

I have both. The ps3 blu ray is one of the best on the market. I don't play it online since mine is only a 20g. It don't have the wifi. I mostly just use the ps3 for movies. I play the 360 a lot. Online play is great. I know more people with 360. I think they have more games also. It depends on what your looking for. Great blu ray or more games with more people online. My only advice is get a external fan for which ever one you buy. It keeps it cooler and will last longer.

Then how would the games play? Those are on BluRay discs. :)
IMO, it totally depends on you as a gamer... 360 will have a TON of games for you to choose from and you'll enjoy the hell out of it. Xbox Live is a really good online experience, I have no problems paying the $50 for a quality service like it.
My ps3 only gets turned on every once in awhile, when a good game I wanna play comes out or if its movie time. If you go this route... you MUST get Metal Gear Solid 4, it's the closest thing to a movie that any video game has ever achieved. There are a few other good ones out that I'm spacing on.
In the end, both consoles share a lot of games, it's the exclusive stuff that usually sways people. Kinda like the whole GTA downloadable content... it's only on the 360.
Good luck!

I have both, and just put my 360 on ebay. I never play it anymore, and it is nice not to have to buy a membership to get online.

you know the saying you get what you pay for! ive played all the consoles and ps3 is the weakest one of the bunch. the only thing it has going for it is blu ray. the 360 has the best game selection out of any of the 3.you can do much more with the other two consoles out of the box and then there is the MODS you can do to the 360 and the wii :coo1:

ps3 is better overall, and more practical, but EVERYONE has a 360,, I love mine, play it all the time, and everyone i know has one, the ps3 is too expensive, im not sure what they are going for now, but they used to be way to pricey

360 has better games, but you have to pay for internet, you can mod it but not the ps3, paying for the internet does eliminate cheaters and glitchers though, ps3 has better graphics to me, blu ray, movies look great on them, so i'd say ps3 all the way (even though i just sold mine to help pay for my dogs surgery) but i still love playstation

360 imo is better... I know the blu ray deal is nice but you can always get a blu ray DVD player..... but game wise like it was said before selection goes to 360 easy id even say graphics go to 360 but again just my oppion.... online play I love the 360 and it seems more/better gamers tend to have the 360 not PS3.... plus what I hear the net flicks on the 360 is pretty nice... does PS3 have that????? just wondering

360 hands down for a gaming rig. Way better bang for the buck. If you really want a Blu Ray player then consider the PS3. The online is far better on the 360 not to mention the game selection is huge. Graphics are the same as each system has a weak link.
If you really want a better opinion go to a gamestop or gamecrazy and ask which one is better. Most of those guys have all the systems and are actual gamers and not fanboys.

If you go to the playstation store you can rent movies. I think you can even buy them on there,.,,,,

You can do more with a PS3. It's designed to be the end-all family entertainment center with Blu-Ray, the option to upgrade to whatever size HDD you want without having to have a special case, and the option to install an operating system on it to use it as a desktop computer.
I have owned both the PS3 and X360, but I had the X360 a long time before having the PS3, and I ended up selling the PS3 after 4-5 months. I just couldn't get into it. I only bought two games, and they were PS3 exclusives (Little Big Planet and MGS4). I have nothing against the PS3, it is a very nice console and I may get another for God of War 3 if they make a bundle out of it. My problem was that if I could get a game for either PS3 or X360, I ended up getting it for the X360 because I was more comfortable with it and I could enjoy it a little more.
Cliff notes of everything I posted above:
Make your own independent decision. Play on both, weigh the pro's and cons of each system. They are both very good consoles, both have their strong and weak points.
