OK, I've been craving a good steak dinner for a few weeks now and I'm gonna treat myself to a big hunk of meat for my birthday this evening. :cool1:
Who has the best steak locally?
Preferably on the KY side of the river and not too fancy.

Great steak, not too fancy, and in Kentucky makes it a little tough. The Water Front is a good choice but it might be fancier than you want but not that bad. When I worked there long pants and a shirt with a collar was required. There are a number of good places just across the river including Mortons, Jeff Ruby's, The Celestial, and The Precinct. I haven't been to Ruby's but I have been to the Precinct. I like the Waterfront more. Some people think Morton's is great but my wife is not a fan. THe Celestial is suppose to have one of the best views in town.

The Bier Haus over on Miamitown by Edgewater has some pretty kick-ass steaks. Very relaxed atmosphere, right on the river, but could be a bit further than you want to drive? And get the NY Strip, not the Ribeye if you go.

Lots of people know about these exclusive steak houses...i've never been to them. For me it doesn't get any better than a Longhorn Outlaw ribeye. Tastes F'in amazing and it's expensive enough.

Thanks to Paul (and Craig) I have a new favorite restaurant. Bier Haus is awesome. We sat outside, and it was beautiful overlooking the river. We started off with pretzels and beer cheese. The beer cheese tasted a little different but wasn't too bad. I ended up drinking 2 liters of their dark ale and man, that's some good shit! I had the NY strip and that was one of the best steaks Ive ever had. I didn't even put A1 or anything on it!
Jennifer got the Chicken Oscar and I couldn't keep my paws off it. Amazing! try that stuff!
I even got to take a Warsteiner mug home with me. well, they didn't give it to me but I took it anyways.
two thumbs up, cant wait to go back and try the pork chops!

I'm glad you liked it Matt. Happy birthday man. I'll be in there Tuesday or Wednesday night, but I won't rat you out.
And the Kreimer's dark ale is my all-time favorite beer. I can't get enough of it.

My favorite "popular priced" steakhouse is Lonestar off of Fields-Ertle. Great steaks, great service. Now, if money's no object and you don't mind a drive, try Ruth's Chris. Columbus, Indianapolis or Louisville. We had dinner at Ruth's Chris in Lahina, Maui last Saturday and I can still taste it. IMO, best steakhouse, period.

Yep, and huge. I've had almost everything on the menu since I take my classes there from work a few times a month. I love it.
