Alright, looking at options. I can get a big nasty payment again and go for a new shelby.

I'm also thinking a used terminator with an auto, or an 05 up gt with an auto i can fix up

we just took in a nice 06 blue black leather shaker car with 38k i can buy for $15,800

i could take an extra 5k or so and have a few bucks for mods and have a nice pmt and a fun car

i found a terminator 03 with a built auto and polished whipple, he wants 26 for

oh what to do lol

i need something as i have only a bike now lol

05-27-2009, 10:25 PM
That didn't last long. lol

That's a great price on the 06 but the 03 could take a lot more power;)

My vote with what you're looking at...

1. 2010 GT500, they're just sick
2. Terminator
3. the '06

Something else you could keep in mind is get the '06, build it up a little bit and then wait for the 5.0 Stangs to come out next year and get one of them.

USMCPONY

Terry buy something stock so you know it wasn't beat. You have the resources and opportunities to buy a low mileage Mustang. I would get a 05-09 GT and go all out with it. The GT's weighs almost 500 lbs less than a GT500. That means the most to me. Not only will it be fast in a straight line (with equal horsepower) it will handle better and stop faster. Good luck with your decision and this time buy something you will keep.

If it's a Mustang, it should be a 2010+, but I keep hearing things about how they're going to get bigger motors within the next year or two.

I think the 99-04 looks better than the 05-09, but you've already had both, why go through it again?

Get a G8 or something. Or stop by the Audi dealer and take an S4/S5/S6 for a drive.

The aluminum block should only shave around 60 lbs. a 4.6 cast iron block weighs about 155lbs. An aluminum 4.6 is ~85lbs depending on the year. A Ford GT aluminum 5.4 block is 110lbs I believe the 5.4 cast iron blocks are around 200lbs.

The Shelby would be sweet. Saw one at Castrucci at Alexandria when I got my Mountaineer. It was right next to a GT500KR and to be honest I really liked the Shelby almost as much. Plus it was just over $30K brand new.

Terry, if you are looking at the used '06 GT but you have a shot at an '08 Shelby (if the bid comes in and your boss lets you have a deal on it), you're looking at roughly a 10k difference. I don't think that you could match the 10k in mods on the GT to make up the difference of what the Shelby has to begin with. Plus the Shelby is a clean slate to start with for whatever modding your heart wants to go with. You've already had a Shelby once already, but you've had time to reflect on what you should have done differently on that build. Just fueling the fires. Then again, if you guys get the Shelby for cheap and not want to get too big a turnaround (if you pass on it) maybe you would give me a shout! :coo1:

Never knew you owned one. But a new SHO has all that minus a few HP at the wheels and plus a few MPG's at the pump. It also has AWD:tongue2: and most importantly ITS NOT A DODGE... Take it from a mopar guy, your better off with that thing in your past.

If I had to do it again I would do the old school look. Something like this with maybe Mach I or Boss decals. Maybe a shaker hood.

Cobra looks pretty damn good Terry. Solid axle and all. Looks like a fairly good deal especially with the built street friendly auto already installed. That way the wife can drive it :D

I got a feeling that Terry will wind-up with the Terminator. Something about it when he made his first post and the power that it is making. That DSG is a very sweet color on that car :bigthumb

I dont think he will keep thw Cobra long either. He kept his 06 the longest. We will see what he does.
