putting in my new c4......I bought a TCI bell housing and 157 tooth PA SFI flex plate. Bolting the tranny up you can get it all bit a 1/8th of a inch till it mates to the block and the converter hits the flywheel, and yes the converter is fully seated. Not understanding what the problem can be?

I would say you have two possibilities. The converter is too tall for the 5.875 Bell or the flex plate has the wrong offset.

Do you have the proper block plate installed?

i bought the PA block plate......wouldnt understand why the covnvertor would be off but it only measures 3/4 from converter ear to edge of bell using a straight edge. I see summit makes a 6.35 bell but it says its only for 164 tooth flyeheels but that would about set it perfect>

There is one other possibility. Your pump gears may be in backwards. This causes the converter to stick out about 1/4 inch more than normal. Is this a known good tranny or a fresh rebuild? Do you know what bell height the converter was made for exactly?

possibly, been trying to get ahold of redneck no response....the converter was made for a 157 tooth bell which is 5 7/8
