I ran across a nice notchback roller that had about $7,000 worth of new parts already on the car. The seller wanted $3,500 for everything including the car. The seller kept the hood and wheels you see here.

This is a project that my dad and I have been chasing for years. We got the car into the garage and on jackstands. The car has some goodies already on it. Some misc. things it has is a five lug, drum rear converson, 10' wide Weld Prostar out back, Flaming River kit, caster/camber plates, sumped fuel tank, stainless braided fuel line, battery cable to the trunk with a cutoff switch, welded torque boxes, sub frame connectors, fiberglass trunk, and probably a few things I can't remember, but will post if I do think of them.

The rear end has been narrowed slightly, with Strange 31 splines with big lug studs on a spool with a lightweight Motive gear. The suspension is rather nice, the inner fender wells have been massaged with a BFH and the wheel well lips have been rolled. I LOVE the look of minitubbed coupes, but in order to do that, I'd have to re-do the rear set-up. I personally don't think I'd enjoy a minitubbed car that don't run, so I'll spend the money elsewhere and drive the car on a small tire. I can fit a pretty decent tire under the rear anyways, due to the prior work to the sheetmetal. Up front, again, is a nice suspension.

I've got the entire car stripped down to the the suspension, trunk, and doors. I don't know how to weld, so, we're waiting on the chassis shop to fit us in. There, it will be getting a drive shaft loop, 8 point cage, battle boxes, tubular radiator support, and the swiss cheese holes under the hood welded up. From there, paint!

The plan is a nice looking, quick car to drive to the cruise ins, and hit the track. I don't have the money some of the guys on this site have, but still plan to have a blast with this thing.

I ran across a guy who was in a tight spot who had some nice parts for sale. I picked up a TKO600, bell house, heavy duty clutch fork, slip yoke, and aluminum drive shaft. He also had some AFR's with Crane Gold rockers.

I got a real good price and couldn't pass this stuff up. Since then, my dad got us a production block that was already machined and prepped to build. I ordered a cast steel crank, rods, and forged flat top piston assembly from Coast High Performance. We used all ARP hardware and put together a nice little engine. It may not be the best, but we're going to enjoy it. Ed Curtis did a custom grind cam. We measured the pushrods out and degreed the cam in just like he told us to. To top it off, an aluminum RPM Air Gap and new FRPP Cobra Powered By Ford valve pans button up the upper end. I have pictures, but haven't put them on the computer yet.

Once the car is on the road, I'll plan to sneak a nice, turbo'd BBF between the shock towers.

No real updates. I pulled the rubber glass runs out of the door channels, and the dew wipes also. The doors need some attention. The under side of the door skin and the area under the dew wipe is showing some rust.

Thanks! It may not be an aftermarket block with forged internals, but we wanted to do our best. In the first picture, you can see the freeze plugs. I masked them off with an exacto knife, lol. Small details make a difference. I'm glad the hard work we put into making it look nice payed off. Everything on the engine, minus the block and heads, is brand new. The block and heads were taken to a machine shop, of course.

Who's hood?

I went to the UFO Super Swap in Columbus a few years ago. Being a ricer who buys ricer tranmission crossmembers ( LOL ) I fell in love with that hood. I can't remember the name of the company that makes it. It's not Cervini or Harwood. May end up being junk, hehe. I don't know how it would look on a Mustang of any other color.

So is it an actual CF hood or just a fiberglass hood lined with CF?

Clutch/Transmission installed! As far as the crossmember, that thing fit like a glove! We held it strait up to the body, put a bushing in front and behind the crossmember, and bolted the tranny-mount strait up. Man, that thing is 100% quality and a pleasure to install. Looks very nice under there, too.
