this was on another board and i want to see what people have to say.
did you get made fun of? or told your cars slow?
i drive my 89 to school daily unless weather is bad. (then i drive the ranger or kia! ) if my car isnt in the lot that day people seem to think im just not there and go hey your here! its like a oden that that's my car and its unmistakable mine. the only 5.0 at the school and foxbody period. there are about 5 other mustangs at my school and only 2 of them are v8's both 4.6's one 96 and the 05 that my buddy ryan drives ( bought it off here. the 05 sonic blue GT )
people love these cars and ive never had trouble with anyone messing with any of the mustangs at our lot.
my car attracts alot of attention because its loud lol and i love it. made a few new friends just because of the car. everywhere i go its no doubt its me in that car. gotta love the ole fox!
this is such a true quote!
"i drive my fox b/c its loud, obnoxious and uncomfortable, and its unlike any other mustang, i like that i can pull into a gas station between a 16 y/o girl and with her 96 v6 and a 50 something guy with his brand new 09 GT. and they will both be like "wtf is this thing? why are my eyes burning?""
another thing i found kinda cool today is that my business teacher knows me and ryan both have mustangs. nice ones at that. ( him being a mustang fan ) and that we would kill someone if there egged them. and with today being seniors last day rumours of them egging the nicer cars in the parking lot. ( me and him both wanted to get our cars the hell outta there ) he gave us both teacher parking passes for the day after we came to class and asked if we heard about it. and told us to go move our cars to beside his. and guess what. end of the day comes. our cars are untouched while a good portion of the parking lots are covered in egg. and with it being 75* out right now. thats a huge as mess! so me and him owe this teacher! ha. we both ended up staying after and helping people get the egg of there car before it destroyed the paint.

My best friend's parents (Tracy Painter) owned AP Motor in New Richmond, which was a Ford dealership. They bought her a brand new mustang our senior year of high school (1985... no old jokes) and she hated to drive, so I got to drive it all over the place. I loved it! I had a 1979 Volkswagen Rabbit (orange, ick!) so I was thrilled driving that mustang around. It was not a fast one, but it was pretty! Back then, I didn't know the thrill of driving a fast car.

Didn't get into mustangs till I got on here in 04. In high school, I had a 73 charger. Senior year, I got kicked out of the lot for doing donuts in the snow before school even started. I turned 18 that year and since I parked on the street, I left for lunch almost everyday. 1989, I feel old now....

I had an 1986 Mustang GT I bought in Springfield, OH. It was a total wreck. I spent all summer before my senior year working at Kings Island to save money and restore her. Once I had the money saved I went junkyard hunting and found all the body panels I needed. The car was then sanded to bare metal and repainted silver with the GT stripe painted on instead of sticker. I then put '93 GT tail lights on her. As far as the motor it was stock other than a B cam. I had a RAM Kelvar clutch put in when the T5 was rebuilt. Like a fool I sold it a year after I graduated. There were four of us in high school with Mustangs, and in the year book they put us in there under the title "Stang Gang"....thanks Ryan for the trip down memory lane. :bigthumb

Had my 86 (swapped front nose to 87 before I bought it) GT drop top.I had bought the car the year prior and started to drive it my senior year.It was Chrome Yellow that lit up like a christmas tree. The side ground effects had the mustang gt cut out and neons installed inside the ground effects. The front nose Ford emblem lit up and the side 5.0 badges were cut out and lexan badges were installed with a light behind them.Car looked pretty cool back when I first got it.

true story...6 months later lost my license driving home from Kings Island with girlfriend on a late sunday afternoon....cop sitting on overpass where cross county merges in with 275 before it heads down the hill heading west...i was racing another red foxbody and got pulled over just before harrison from a cop sitting in the medium waiting with lights on "past miamitown exit" 135 in a 65 "14 points all said & done & $3500 in fines only lost license for 6 months though..."

I drove a 72 Mustang, 302. That was an awesome car. It was my first car and a kept it for 8 years. I cried the day I sold it cuz I told the guy that was buying it, that I had lost the trunk key and he said " Oh no worries.... I will just pop the lock out with a screw driver, No big deal " oh I wanted to die.

I drove and 88GT that was prowler yellow with black racing stripes. Everyone knew it was mine and if I was at school or not!
1980 mustang notch. Loved the car. Had those metrics on it and the tires were waaaaaay expensive. I think it was 1992 or 1993. I left school went to see my girlfriend, wife now, and was flying around a turn and droped it into 1st. Did I mention it was an automatic? Well I was still goung about 35 - 40 and it made an awful noise and about 5 min later it was cooked. Back then if a motor went or a tranny it was the end of the world and I junked it. If I knew then what I know now I would have kept a few of those cars and not left them on the side of the road. ha. I once left a pretty nice 79 trans am that was close to mint at a gas station with the keys in it and a sign that read I AM DONE WITH THIS. in the window. Title in the glovebox keys in it and walked away. Stupid thing kept breaking down and I guess I had enough. Man I ws a stupid kid....

I had my 74 Nova, more power then i needed to start with, my Dad had built a healthy 355 for her, and she would get it done. One of two Novas that would occasionally drive to school, the other one was my buddies dads car, he would drive it every now and then. I got him in trouble doing burnouts in mine across the parking lot, mine was primer with a white front fender, my buddies was white and the principle thought it was him cause he only noticed the white fender on my car and how loud it was. Those were the days, damn i miss my Nova!

The SVO's are a blast to drive. The best balanced Mustang front to rear ever produced IMO. Plus the 2.3 can handle decent boost levels.

Jr/Sr year I got a 95 roush mustang. Chrome yellow, black shinoda "Boss" stripes. Some people would give me shit but I was the fastest car in the school at the time- which says something for a vocational school packed with gearheads. The smack talkers were the 16.0 dakotas and the blazer guys who thought the 4.3 was gods gift to gasoline. I spent two summers digging graves for that car. I sold it a year and a half ago for a jewelry investment (ring). When the little lady gets done with school I'll pick up an 03/04 cobra. Till then I rock an SVT focus 5dr for child seat and gas pump compatability

I didn't drive a Mustang, but I was representing Fords, probably in a poor manner in most peoples eyes though.
I had a 95 Probe GT with a mild V6, mild porting on the heads and intake, bolt on's, and a lot of suspension work, and a partial cage.. The most important part was the open Pacesetter longtubes. That car was unmistakable. LOL Ask Untamed about the burnouts in front of her house at all hours of the night, bouncing 8200rpm's. haha

Funny thing to add: He also out ran the cops on his way home from school when he was 15. Unfortunately, he out ran them straight to his house...BUSTED...In a village of less than 500 - 80% being amish with horse/buggies and you have the fastest car in town....Don't try to out run the cops...they know who you are and DEFINATELY don't go straight home.:bigthumb
Good news we (he) still has the car. Hopefully it will be tuned up and ready to hit the streets again soon. Our 14 year old THINKS it is going to be his first car. NOT :screwy:

1983 Mustang GLX convertible. Blue with a black top. V-6 of course because my mom knew a V-8 would be trouble. Especially the way I drive. Drove it down to Siesta Key on spring break and got busted for having too many people in the car. The top was down and people just started getting in. We ended up driving on the beach later that night and almost got busted again. The cops were pretty cool back then but that was back in 86.

My family was pretty low middle class so i didn't get any cool cars and always went with the practical vehicle once I was on my own until a couple of years ago when I finally got my Stang.
When i started driving my dad had 2 old LeMans, one was a 69 with a 400 4bbl and the other was his baby, a 70 with a 350 2 bbl. He was going to give me the 69 until my mom talked him out of it and instead I got her old 75 Pontiac Bonneville. It was about 400' long too and was once used to break the German lines in WWI it was that big. Plus it was burnt orange, but it did have a 400 in it. I stepped up slightly from there and about a year later bought a 79 Chevy Impala with a very wimpy 305 in it, but at least I could spin the wheels. Wheeeeee!
I was always jealous of the guys who had sports cars in high school. But I made out all right so no complaints here.

I drove a 98 mustang since I was 17, almost 22 now and still continue to drive her. It's a v6, due to the fact that insurance was such a huge difference and my $6.15 cent job didn't go too far. I always was aware of it being a v6 and super slow, so the car never really got beat on too much. It's always gotten me from point A to point B with no problem at all. I plan to keep it and turn it into a project car within the next few years. I think it's cool when you talk to an older person and they say yeah, I have owned it since I was 16.
