First off BIG THANKS TO MATT JOHNSON!!!! He pretty much put the whole car back together for me!

Just got my car off the dyno. I can't say how pleased I am with the numbers. Details on the build:

2005 Mustang GT Auto
Stock Trans
Stock Shortblock
Techco 3.0L Twin Screw Supercharger @ 10 psi
Livernois Stage III Heads
Modular Depot Custom Cams
1 3/4" Long Tubes, 3" X pipe stock catback pipes with Mac Mufflers

These cams are not intended for the stock shortblock setup, they are for when the built bottom end goes in. They are ground to rev and that's exactly what we wound up with. It's not recommended on a stock shortblock but we spun it to 7,000 RPM and the power was still climbing! This is the 10 psi kit but I was seeing more like 9 psi.

Numbers are 502 rwhp 426 rwtq!

Ultimate goal for the project is a big bore setup that revs to 8,000, blower at max RPM and maybe some nitrous on top.

Car is headed to the Atco NMRA race tomorrow. It's not legal to run quicker than 11.5's right now unfortunately but we will get all that stuff done when we get back.

I took a video of the dyno run and will try and get that posted soon.

Wow...it really liked that extra boost....I can't wait to see what it does with a built short block and more boost:eek:

I love high rev V8 engines! Smooth numbers too!

I think I had a bad coil on that 400 rwhp/5psi run too.

thanks everyone!

Here is a video of the dyno run and some idle and revs at the end. Sorry it's dark. We are moving to a big location and have taken down our nice lights, lol.

Nothing unfortunately. Once I get my heads I'll probably get a bit more motivated. The cage did get certified last week though.

Now that I have my own car again and don't have to bum rides and borrow cars, I can probably find more time to work on it. lol

Does that still have the converter I built in it? I'm not sure that twin disk setup will handle much more we may have to put the conversion plate in there that wasn't available when I built that one.

yes same converter. Just gonna see what happens at this point. I think between the stock rods, stock tranny, stock suspension, who knows what's going to go first.

I don't have any pictures but I have a video :cool1:

At the power level you are getting those are know to strip the spline for lockup out of the front cover. It is an easy fix i keep the billet singledisk lockup piston conversion plate in stock. I haven't seen anybody strip one out on a mustang yet but the explorers are prone to it.

If this tranny comes out, it's probably being replaced with something else. ;)

I would use the Boss 5.0 Modular block for the big bore. We can actually get your car to RPM like mine, you have very similar cams. But there is always a tradeoff. To get RPM up top, you're giving up power at lower RPMs. Since yours is built for the street, the cams are timed differently.
But that can always be changed. It is a decent amount of work because the front cover has to come back off. Let me get you driving your car before you decide to change anything. lol

I'm not sure these cams would quite make 8,000 but by the looks of it, it should peak in the mid to lower 7,000 and hopefully carry pretty far out. So high 7's shouldn't be a problem.

I would be inclined to agree I don't think much of the glorified c3 either.

doesn't tci have a 1000hp trans for these now? 5 speed

If you call throwing cheap red paper cltuches into a stock transmission a 1000hp transmission yes,yes they do. Throw 1000hp at one and tell us how it goes. The piece that connects the overdrive planet to the sun gear is about 1/8 inch thick splined in the middle for the sun gear and tabbed on the outside for the planet. You get that to handle 1000hp, even titanium wouldn't take it. Not to mention that the input shaft is 5/8 in diameter. IMO anything more than 600hp will destroy that box built as good as it gets. The OEM clutches are superior to anything produced aftermarket either. That transmission had to have massive upgrades to handle v8 power so ford went all out on it.

Weekend went great with the car.

First pass I launched it very soft on the dyno tune. Went 11.32@123 with only a 1.8 60'

After that we dialed it back some to keep it at 11.5 or higher to be legal.

Had a couple of 11.5's but then the 60's started getting better. I kept dialing back the tune and he kept going quicker with better 60's. In first round of elims I dialed the shift points all the way back to 6,000. Cut a 1.61 60' and went 11.37@111

Here is a video of the very first pass

BBS knockoffs. Made by ASA I think they are AR1's. I plan on a nice set of Forgelines but they are not in the budget right now.
