Stopped by my local wally world tonight and saw a friend at the ammo counter. There was a sign posted that said limit 6 items per customer per day. I understand about ammo being scarce right now but if I had the money in my pocket and wanted to buy every round they had, why do they have the right to limit what I can spend in the store? Just kind of ticked me off. They didn't have much there anyway. A few boxes of 9mm, a few boxes of .40 and 1 box of .45
Slim pickings. Thank goodness I reload my own 9mm!!!!

Heck...they had none of any hand gun caliber the last 4-5 times I've stopped in. I just wanted 100-200 rounds of 9mm.

Not saying it's right or wrong but just to put you on the other end....how would you feel if you really needed something and the guy in front of you bought every last bit of it?
Then what if you found that same guy selling the stuff he bought at a mark up, and he was the ONLY guy around you could buy it from? Wouldn't that suck?

To answer your question. They own the store they make the rules. Don't like it buy elsewhere.
Frankly doesn't bother me as I have not fallen into the Obama is going to steal every last gun we have and tax ammo out the wazoo. So it is nice to actually find ammo somewhere.
Wal-Mart has actually had some each time I have gone. I think we are on the backside of it. Even Hoarders have their limits.
Stock will again start to rise and ammo prices will fall and people who bought cases at these inflated prices will be sorry.

It is aggravating when people are charging $25 for 50 rounds 380 FMJ target ammo. Just last year you could get it for half the price. I hope things calm down some. I have not been able to target shoot in a while.

I would love to go to the range to practice but I only have a 100 rounds or so at the house. I have tried to pick some up here and there but I have never been lucky enough to find a store with .40 or .45 because the people who are buying up every box they find are keeping the store shelves bare.

Don't get me wrong I think it's good to have it on hand. I am defiantly in no short supply. But folks who are going out and buying whatever box they may see at any price because they think the sky is falling are ridiculous.
I have a rule to have no less then 500 rounds of each caliber I own. If I have far more than that at a time so be it. But I am also not going to go freaking out.
.22Lr and Birdshot are still cheap and easy to come by. If it comes down to a real SHTF. .22 and bird shot will get the job done. But of course I have the .223, 9mm, .40, 7.62x39, and a few other calibers on hand just in case.

Well when I go to the range for target practice, I shoot 200 to 300 rounds. you can eat up some ammo doing that!

I try to keep up with limits like that but it has been hard in these times. When I shoot I can go through a lot :D. I load 9mm and soon to load .45acp :D. My .380 is suffering, but that problem will soon to be fixed.
What kind of limit do you have on shot gun, surely not 500 shells.:)
now to get more primers etc

Gander mountain had nothing in 9mm, .357, .40, .45 at all. BUt they did have 2 boxes of 9mm Makarov.

ammo will be the currency if the economy were to ever collapse. Highly unlikely but nothing wrong with being prepared as ammo comes in handy for many uses.

500 is a decent minimum for birdshot. I keep less when it comes to slugs or Buckshot.
.22Lr has about a 2,000 round minimum

Remember when oil was approaching $150 a barrel? Same mob psychology at work with gun and ammo sales.

SSSSSHHHHHHHH, Olde English is a great gunshop with some very knowedgable people. We also have Vandalia Tactical with a big selection of guns and rifles, then theres Vandalia Armory and Range, top of the line indoor rifle and handgun range! We are blessed.
