Floor Jack

I am looking at getting a new low profile floor jack and was wondering what everyone used. I had a 1.5ton craftsmen for 3 years and it just broke. Any opinions would be nice.

I was in Costco a month or two ago and they had a super low profile, extra long jack for like 98 bucks or something. I was going to buy it, but I don't actually have a Costco membership, so no dice.

That's what I have.

It has been pretty good for the past 3 years.

It isn't *super* low profile, but it'll clear my Mazda, which the previous "standard" jack wouldn't without running it up on planks.

I have a jack I got from Costco but it was a blue one. It works pretty well.

I have the aluminum jack from Craftsman. Had it for three years with no problems... it was the only one I could find that was low enough to get under my sub-frame connectors.

How low do you need to go? Here's the heights according to their spec pages.

I thought mine (4nd) wasn't any taller than that "low profile" one (3rd).

Your right and it's only basics(ratchets sockets wrenches) they only cover their torque wrenches for 90 days.

Well, my Craftsman aluminum jack has finally bit the dust. After a few years of use... leaving puddles of fluid along the way its over. Now the handle just turns clockwise and never stops. :confused: Freakin' junk.

I have this same jack and its great for the track because its very lightweight. Mine has worked fine.

for 6 years. I've way overloaded it (forktruck repair) and used it beyond it's design and I have never added fluid or cleaned up spots on my floor from it. Yeah its kinda heavy, but It's on sale for $60.00 right now and it's bullet proof.

Most all jacks are the same for comparable weight categories. If you look at different brands side by side frequently the only difference is color.

That jack doesn't go low enough for some/most of our cars (5.5"). :(

With my car lowered, the three and a half was about .75 to tall to fit under the frame rail connectors.

Used 2 by 12 wooden pads at the track to raise it up.
