Anyone use Hawk brake pads?

Just looking for something that has minimal brake dust and if i'm going to spend the money then why not get a bit better stopping power. I've never used them and wanted some opinions.

Hawks are prefered by most, just stay away from EBC pads.

Get a hold of Black Horse for a compound suggestion.

They don't dust up everything, but you will get strange looks from all the feathers flying out of your wheels! :lol::lol:

If you are just doing street and maybe an occasional Auto-X I would go with the Performance Friction pads (Autozone, etc.). The Hawks are exceptional race pads, their street pads either create too must dust or are too hard on the rotors. For the money and for the street I'd go with the PF.

I'm running Hawk street pads on the rear of the Mazda. They don't dust as much as the OEM pads did. Good stopping. When the fronts wear down, I'm swapping out the fronts, to Hawk pads too.

Not at all. I have them on 2 Mustangs and had them on the Audi. They are great pads. Quiet, good stopping power, and are like $50.

I think one set may be Advanced Auto Zones brand Friction Masters. But either way they are great pads and very little dust.
My Audi was horrible for dusting with OEM pads but when I switched to the Performance Friction had zero dusting problems and better stopping power.

I didn't like PF's on the Civic, Axxis Metal Masters work better, but a totally different car.

Just like Spec clutches are junk on the import side, but seems quite a few happy Mustang/F Body users.

Cool guys, i'm more concerned with dust than anything. If I want to keep my wheels clean i'd have to wash them every 100 miles. This it with oem pads. I'll look into autozone/advanced auto pads this weekend if that is my best bet.

If you don't want dust, then stay away from Hawk HP+ for sure. They are really dusty for a street pad. But then again, they are more of a transition pad for street/track.

If you are looking for pads that do not put off dust try the akebono pro act pads sold at koi
