head size for 392?

i'm putting together a 392 combo, and am not quite sure if afr 185's, or 205's will be better. it will be street driven, fuel injected, n/a, and probably not see over 6500 rpms. shootin for 550hp, don't want to have to dump a ton of cash in girdled rockers and such, any experienced advice will be appreciated.

i am a edelbrock victor jr fan but the afr 205 is what i would run if you want afrs

My 408 is a pump gas motor with unported victor Jrs It made 600hp at the flywheel Carb car port matched Vic jr intake Mild Solid roller. I think 205's or Victor Jrs would be the right size heads for you. I shift my car at 6500-7000. I think 500-550 would be easy to achive at the flywheel with mild parts.

afr 205's (hell even 185's need ported for 347's)... victor jr's are the best bang for the buck ...

lets say i go w/ victor jr's, and a victor efi intake, it says 4000 to 7000 rpm range, is 7000 to much for hyd. roller? is there an out of the box cam that will hit the numbers i'm seeking and still be streetable, or do i go w/ a custom grind?

No, you won't lose torque with vic jr.'s or 205's. 205cc runners are more properly sized for 392 cu. in. A vic efi intake would be a good choice if using either head. As far as cam, Anderson Ford Motorsport will have good off the shelf cams, Bullet cams will make you a custom grind for the the same money as Anderson's cams, About $300. You can take Hyd. roller to 7000. But I'd be willing to bet, that you won't need to above 6500 to make the power you want to make.

thanks for the imput, i had considered victor jr's for another engine, but valve clearance was a concern, the new setup has kieth black's, so i'll check to be safe, but i appreciate the help.
