Saw this car the other night checking out a SRT-4 for a friend. The SRT was a poorly reconstructed clip car. The Cobra's rear had paint work as well but I didn't really check as to the extent of damage. Decent price even though its partially riced. :)

I did run a Carfax and it came back clean on the car.
Thats a very average price on the car. Terms have dropped in price ALOT. Plus, everyone hates that color.

Kevin,
I n '94 & '95 they called it Canary Yellow and in '98 it was called Chrome Yellow. The codes for those three years were the same, "DZ".

black on black vert for me...rollbar would be first purchase(somehow completes the look on any vert...otherwise they're ugly imo). couple nice ones on ebay with less miles than that one going for about 21 g's. would love to have a terminator but then again...could turbo a clean fox and I'd be happy. :)

I did run a Carfax and it came back clean on the car.
Their are a ton of "clean carfax" cars that have been hit. It is due largely to people over buying on cars they can only borderline afford. Squeezing down their finances makes them cut back on insurance and run higher deductibles. When they run into a situation with a fender bender, $1,000 cash (what would be a deductible) will go pretty far towards repairing the car at a body shop (especially in tough times) without the insurance powers that be getting notified.

I got a whore story for you. Freaked me out b/c I never knew of this scenario. Some couple I know of who aren't in the club or anything... they really aren't, I'm not just saying that. Anyway they were coming home one night and a "deer ran out in front of them" they swerved off the road and hit a guardrail. They were only a mile or so from home so they drove home & didn't call the police. I'm thinking since it was after midnight and they were coming home from a festival they may've had a few "soda pops" in them. Anywho they call the insurance company (can't remember what BS they told them) the next morning and long story short the car was repaired at a professional bodyshop even though it was almost totaled. It's a newer factory supercharged Pontiac that was worth like $16K at the time, and i wanna say the ins. co. paid the bodyshop something like $14k in repairs.
I ran a car fax on it when I was looking for a daily driver and bought the carfax unlimited subscription and the car came back 100% clean! That freaked me out b/c that car was nearly totaled and then driven or more likely limped home after the wreck, but it appeared as a no accident car since no police report ever got filed!
So its calling to police that gets it reported on carfax????

Police, Insurance Companies, certain body shops, Polution testing sites, numerous sources. Carfax are good to have, sure they do not tell the whole story, but they may give you an idea...plus if you catch the seller in a lie about the car I would stay away.

CntLose. I'm not so sure on the calls or claims to insurance companies being reported on carfax. The only vehicle damage reports I've personally seen on carfax were accidents where police were involved and a person cited.
I don't believe insurance companies are bound to release their records. In fact keeping your information private would be one thing I'd see as you paying them for. Accidents reported by police are on the other hand public record and therefore anyone (including private companies like carfax) can retrieve those records. I've only seen like 20 or 30 carfaxes so it's not like I do this for a living all day long, but when you 1st type in the VIN and it finds like 10 "reports" where they try to sucker you into buying a subscription even those most or all have been license plates or e-check in my experience have all been public record items... car sold & title transferred, car registered as a fleet vehicle, fire department called & responded b/c car had a fire in the engine compartment (that was on this Coupe Deville I looked at and the guy selling it said they issued a salvage title for some reason, but he put a new wiring harness on it. I'm like yeah cause the MFer flamed up and the fire department had to hose it down G! :flipoff: LOL ), passing e-check, salvage or rebuilt title issuance, license plate issuance, accident where police were called, etc.
It's definitely better to have one than not, but don't think it reports any little thing that has happened to the car b/c all kinds of bad S could've happened that only the owner & God know about!

I agree, but if you have a car you owe money on and total it the insurance company buys the vehicle from the seller/creditor and the vehicle is then issued a salvage title to the insurance company. The insurance company then auctions the vehicle or sells it for scrap. That is where you get a report from an insurance company.

CntLose, do you see the insurance company buying / selling it or the report from the state saying a salvage title was issued?
