I have seen that happen before. Not a good thing to happen at all. Just curious, what brand is the hood?

boss hoods had a lamination problem most people quit using them, not sure that champion has had the issues.

Boss hoods never had that problem. You have them backwards.Alot of companies were using bondo to kinda "glue" the top and bottom pieces together.Im not sure if Champion was using bondo or not,but what ever they USED to use didnt work that great, and the two pieces would seperate.
How long ago did you buy the hood?

I have always heard that Champion makes a good hood. Everyone i talked to recommended them. its only been on the car for 2.5 months.

I have a champion hood on my car now.And I just purchased the brand new Boss 3.25" cowl last week.
Its hard to say how it happened, but whatever they used to bond them together didnt work.Talk to Champion, see if they help you out.

Todd at Boss never put out a hood that had that problem. He does hoods for Ford and Steeda so that says alot about his work.

Seems like I remember a big discussion on here a while back that Champion and Cincinnati Composites are both the same company, or at the very least, they're associated.

From what I have heard, they were partners and had split up.Dont know if its true or not.But I have heard it a couple times from different people.

You have that backwards. I had a few Boss hoods on my Stangs, NEVER had a problem like that.

I'd be taking this up with the manufacturer. That's F'in BS.

yah apparently i got it backwards, i guess its champion that was actually bonding the halves with bondo. From the stories good luck on getting them to do anything.

Should have bought from HO Fibertrends, they made the original Cobra R hoods for Ford. No offense, but I just laugh everytime another Mustang gets trashed by an aftermarket hood blowing up or ripping apart. I've seen dozens online. People never learn. They try to save $500 and end up spending $1000 extra to fix the damage to the car and buying yet another cheap hood. Personally, I'd never run anything on any vehicle except for a stock hood, or an aftermaket STEEL hood. Goodmark makes steel cowl hoods for trucks, dunno about Mustangs.

Ford had the same problem with the early SN95 cars. Top layer would separate and come off.

Yea I know, I had a 94 Cobra that they shot glue up into the hood. I still stand by what I said. Numbers wise, what fails more? Ford hoods or aftermarket? I'd say it's 1,000:1 ratio if not worse.
