I purchased a 302 block out of 93 gt I want to build up for my 94 cobra. However im looking for some advice. I want the car to be a 12 sec dd if possible but yet i still want reliability. Ive been leaning towards purchasing a scat 331 stroker kit. Im also planning on staying fuel injected. Would anyone suggest doing this? or should i just build a nice little 306? any advice is appreciated

only looking for 12's? ... you certainly dont need a 331 for that ... i personally wouldnt do a stroker motor, the money you spend stroking it out ~ you could buy a supercharger ... i gained about 7 tenths stroking my car out ... i wouldnt do it again, but that was 2003 ...
if you do stroke it out, do a 347 ~ you might as well get all the hp you can ...

tim has it right, p heads & explorer intake ... there are people on here hitting 11's with that combo ...
save your food stamps & do the p heads ...

My car is an aluminum headed lowered full weight 88 gt and it has been 12.61 on street tires on the motor with a c-4. It's a stock bottom end 302

Its all in what you want man, more cubic inch will mean more capability for power, but if all you want is 12s, a 302 is more then capable of that with what the guys are telling you, p-heads, explore intake and a little camshaft you will be ready to go and dependable as you want to be.

no need for stroking to go 12's stay 302 with heads and cam like everyone is else is saying. if you go bigger do the 306 with heads and cam and go 11's and still be a daily driver.
