So i like being the person who doesn't follow everyone else and i have decided i would build my 2000 v6 mustang. i know everyone will be like oh go buy a gt and dont waste your money on a v6 well i want to so im going to do it. P.S. in two years ill graduate from automotive school and ill be getting a 03 cobra. but for right now im doing my v6. my goal is to have 400 Hp. right now i have the basic bolts on.
- 42% udps
- pypes H-pipe with flowmaster catback
- bbk intake cut and made into short ram. has box built around it.
- bbk throttle body and spacer that came with it
- msd plugs
right now im working on getting my water-methanol system working- i got it for free from a uncle
this may or june getting a turbo kit with mac lt's that have been modified to work a turbo. getting rid of he pypes h-pipe
until i get me forged internals im only going to be running 5 psi which should make around 300 hp
getting a cobra brake kit
i have a 8.8 from a 98 gt but i need to modified it to fit mine (just have to drill oles bigger)
i probably forgot stuff but ill add it as i think about it.

yeah there is a couple v6's on here that are pretty stout. I dont think anyone cars as long as its a mustang, or something that is fast. Start a build thread.

Nothing wrong with doing your own thing at all. I had a 75 Nova in high school with a 250 straight six, threw a Clifford research 4bbl intake, header and isky cam in it, gave many a v-8 a run for their money.

my buddy has a nova not sure on the year but he has done some stuff to it and i love it.
what size was the turbo?? the turbo im getting is liek a t-35 or 40 i forget but it should make my car have about 300 at 5 psi and at 10 probably 400 to 450 hp

my turbo is a garrett T70 with a p trim .84 exhaust housing! i think with a smaller exhaust housing like a .68ar it would spool little faster around 2800 rpm , the engine was completely stock! even with your mod list and a gt35r ball bearing turbo i think you would be lucky to push 250 hp to the rollers a 5 psi of boost! but good luck a dyno is where the B S ends!

When it comes time, and you do the internals, you may want to get the stuff to make it a 4.2L.
The first engine I built with my dad was a 2.8L Ford V6. Had it balanced, Offenhauser 4V intake, 390CFM Holley, Erson Cam, Clifford long tube headers, bored .030, home ported heads, 4 speed, 4:11 gears in a 78 Mustang II coupe, it ran 14.70's. That was circa 1984! I have no idea how much HP it was making...that was long before everyone and their brother had car dynomometers.
Never be afraid to do your own thing!
Keep us up to date. :bigthumb

Go here and flip through until you see the black S197...it's making 535hp/600tq with a turbo V6.
