Car is pretty clean but for that price it should include another 16 valves at least. If I had the free time I would stop there on my way home and mess with them.

The real question is....Was there even a mach 1 in 2000? Becaus that is def not a 2003 mustang. it has the Rear defrost button on the side by the headlights..only 99-00 had that. and also has the 99-00 radio setup.. 2nd question is wouldnt this be false advertisment?? for one its a 99-00 gt for 2.its only a gt

hell that's not even Mach1 interior!

The outside looks correct as far as being a Mach1 goes... minus the non-existant tailpipes.

Maybe someone bought a Mach, gutted the interior and drivetrain and swapped it with some poor 2V car?

Its just a creatively painted GT with mags, a CAI, a chin spoiler and stripe package. It's missing a few big things: functional hood scoop, 4v motor, seats, interior trim, instrument cluster and some plaques. Not a bad looking car as it sits (with the exception of the interior) however its for sure being misrepresented.

Maybe its a rebuild of a couple cars.... and it has a Mach VIN.

Funny that you say that. I saw a car tonight that had a 2V V8 but it had a 7.5" rear end. It was suppose to be a GT convertible but when you look underneath you can see it has been hit hard. Its actually two cars welded together. I am not sure what it actually started as.

Definetly not a Mach 1. The hood is a GT hood, no shaker. The interior is a GT interior and the Mach 1's in that color have charcoal just like my GT. I don't know whats up with the stereo system, but the TC, rear defrost and foglight buttons are all missing.
And is it me or are there like 3 different colors in that interior? And last of all it does not have the Mach 1 badge or even the GT badge on the trunk.

Upon closer inspection I agree that its not a 2003 car either. The headrests and allot of the interior is all wrong.

Edit: I dropped them an email just in case they don't know.

Probably a rebuilt salvage...and whoever put it together did the Mach swap. Of course if the VIN is a Mach wonder what happened to the original motor and interior...

The rear defrost is up on the dash that says its a 99-00 mustang. im not even sure that that year had a tc button. i think it might have started out as a v6 and the person liked how the mach 1 looked but couldnt affored the motor so they put a gt in.....

or

if you look at the rear side window its not a gt or v6 window, those only came on the mach and i think the bullet. i believe the cobra gt and v6 had the other window

Found the car on Autotrader. Here is their link to Carfax. Says no accident/damage reported. It did have the trans replace at 8k.

In 3 years someone put a lot of miles on it. It also says is was a fleet vehicle, maybe a company bought it at auction just for the drivetrain??? Or who knows...maybe it is a one off factory screw up?

I assume that would be my email. :D

Other than the hood and missing Mach 1 emblem on the trunk it has all the correct Mach 1 stuff on its exterior.

But why does the VIN translate to a Mach 1?

bobtsgt
03-27-2009, 03:05 PM
maybe they swapped the vin plates

Wonder why

I wonder if he just typed it wrong, and this is a simple GT made to look like a Mach. :cool2:

I bet the owner did a motor swap and traded it in. If the dealer didn't catch it then they are stupid and don't know there own product line

THey do have the pony emblems on them but they are not the same as the v6 emblems. They have a ring around them

I think you're wrong.

The '03, used the same pony emblem, as the V-6.

The '04, has the 40th logo, set in a ring.

Bah, it doesn't matter.

This seems to be a shady deal, any way you look at it.

Either the dealer is naive, or he is trying to take advantage, of a naive car buyer. I think he needs to be schooled, in the Mustang world.

But they would have had to swap out an entire interior as well. This is just weird and is bugging me. I wanna know the real story on this car.

I had an 03 gt and it had this interior. Its a 2 tone parchment that looks really nice in person. Almost impossable to find matching floormats. Mine was the torch red and looked orange under a street light. No ring around the emblem. The inside on this is for sure all wrong. I had a 6 disc factory changer in the dash, this one has a cassette player??? I dont think you could even get a cassette player in 03. This place always seems to have nice cars and a decent price but I think they took a beating from someone on this one and good luct to the poor sap who buys it.
Who knows but it would be kinda funny if the new owner joins up. Then we can get the real deal lol

Thats because its torch red which can appear orange in pictures.
