If i dont start the coupe up every coupe days the battery goes dead. I took the negative battery cable off and tested for draw and came up with .11amps. Is that too much? The have a 130 alternator and new optima red top and I re did all the battery cables and ends.

That is about right for the computer and radio memory circuits. Sadly I have NEVER seen an optima battery that was any good after 1 winter of sitting. How old is the battery? And how much voltage are you putting out with the car at a fast idle? Should be around 14VDC.

Hey Mark, typically the most you should see is about .05 amps. Check the visor lights, I know they can cause a draw if they won't shut off when you close them. Good luck!

Yeah, no more than .05 amps. I don't think it matters, but I was taught that you take off the positive cable. What I do is watch the meter and start pulling fuses. Once the draw goes away you can look at the fuse number and narrow it down to the circuit and go from there.

I've had the same Optima in my coupe for 2 winters now...starts like a champ everytime.

Your experiance is better than mine. Optima's don't like being deep cycled, or stored, imho.

I have a yellow optima that sits on a battery tender. 5 years strong.
