I got my coupe going last week and have been sorting some little things out. The motor is basically stock and Im planning on driving the way it is for a while. So what im needing to know is should I put the EGR back on. Would I benefit from it?

No benefit.It opens up at highway speeds and pump exhaust gasses back into the intake for reburn.Thats why most intake's are covered in soot and black crap.I say chuck it.I chucked mine.
