About a week ago something happened to me at work that really kinda hit me and made me think about my life and how i feel about some of the things that have held me back from time to time. I was about to leave work..i work 3rd shift. I was heading into the break room. There's a guy on first shift who is in a wheel chair. He's a pretty nice guy, i've talked to him once or twice. We're both gonna make it to the door at about the same time...HE opens the door for me. A handicapped man who's probably been in a wheel chair most or all of his life opened the door for ME. I was a little stumped for a split second and didn't make a big deal about it at the time but i really made me think. Some people go through life crying about how hardships have screwed them over, and here's this guy who's got it harder than most people i know who cry about every little thing in their lives, and you don't hear him saying a damn thing. He's got a job and works just as hard as anyone else even if he can't do some things that i can do.

So now, i go in to work with a different attitude. I can't stand this job really...i'm extremely over qualified and under paid for the experience that i bring to the table and they know it. It's tough to do a job and take orders from a person who's job you once held. They do show me a lot of respect because of it, but day in and day out i leave the job feeling used. After this guy made that one simple jesture, i now just suck it up and i'm more thankful that i just have a job (not that i wasn't before, but moreso now).

So, the moral of this little rant is, remember that no matter how hard life is shitting on you, you should always lend a hand to help even the people around you who have it better off than you do and remember that someone out there has been and is probably still getting it worse than you are.

Great post, it seems like anymore espicially with my age group(18-25) people complain about every little thing when they have it made. Yet people who have to live without being able to walk or see or hear have a much better more positive outlook on life.

Karma and "what comes around, goes around."

you've seen the country music video :)

I know a LONG time ago I was off work due to back injury, was just cleared to return to work, when on the way home I see a car with a flat tire doing 20 mph in the breakdown lane on 275 E between RH and 71. I go them to stop, and I changed their tire, it was a rental. She wanted to pay me, I refused, be she ended up slipping a $50 under my windshield wiper and I didn't find it till I got home.

I'll be honest, that $50 bought a box a diapers and a bunch of food that we needed.

Give a hand, someday you might be hte person needing that hand.

If more people were like this, life would be alot better.

Its like that commercial where someone sees someone else do some randon act of kindness and they do it and so on. I want to live like that. I help when I can and the situation warrants help.

Paid forward. Simple concept.

Might be the redneck in me coming out, but what is wrong with the concept?

I try to do something nice for someone other than me at least once a day. After my good deed is done, I dont give as much thought to it.

Few things fire me up more than someone saying "not fair". My kids started that crap when they started going to school, and I stopped it immediately.

I love the look on peoples faces when I do random, unexpected acts of kindness or chivalry! :bigthumb

Some of you may think I do not help anybody....:flipoff:
But the one thing I have always done is take all my recyclables such as aluminum cans etc....and old scrap from car repairs and donated it to a few local guys by my shop. They eat and play guard dog(of their own accord) over my shop it's a win/win:bigthumb

Very well said and a lot more people should realize that. How can people be focused on all the things going on around them when they are only focused on what going on with them.......

Paid forward. Simple concept.

Pay it forward is my way of doing things to. Get a deal, give a deal and so on and so forth
