Im thinking about putting a Kenne Bell in my 02 mustang. Ive heard a lot of good things about it, but ive also heard that it blows the engine and the pistons snap off real easy. Is it worth it? Ive gotten mixed answeres from everyone what do you all think?

its kinda hard to believe that an engine will just blow up and pistons snap off... the tune will help that alot being safe or not and knowing the limits of the engine and how much stress you put on it.

Any sort of power adder will shorten the life of any engine due to new stress that it might not have been designed for.

Its hard to say what it'll do because every engine is different and none will act exactly the same.

I have a Kenne Bell and I like the product but hate the customer service. I had a few problems and KB didnt help with any of them. They lied to me as well. I heard mostly good things about KB until I bought one. As I recieved it and had wuestions I heard twice as many negative things than positive about KB.

Thats exactly what i don't want. I've had my car for about 7 months now and no problems i dont want to put a kenne bell in it if its just problems. Any other suggestions on superchargers etc?

My freind JohnnyO is a board member and he has a twinturbo 99 GT. I like it allot. I have driven and rode passenger and its a pretty nice ride.

I've been having some belt issues on my 07. There is nothing like the sound of a screw type supercharger, but I sometimes find myself saying "Why didn't I get a turbo?"

I don't think problems with pistons or rods breaking is because of having a Kenne Bell vs. any other supercharger but rather tuning or the crappy rods and pistions used in all mod motors except the 03/04 Cobra and GT500.

Things start breaking on the 2V once you go north of around 425-450 RWHP. You can go higher but when you do you're on borrowed time. I've heard allot of good things about KB but have also heard allot of bad things about their customer service. With that in mind I'd go with a reputable shop like MPH. As long as you have a safe tune on the car it shouldn't be blowing anything up.

You might take a look at www.torktech.com as well. Bill Evanoff of Super Coupe Performance in Milford helped get the company going and he's a great guy to deal with. He said you can make good power with their kits, and I'm pretty sure they're priced better than KB.

I had the KB on my 03 mustang GT and i loved it. I had a few problems installing it but when you work on cars there is always something that goes wrong but i never had a drivability problem. I loved that scream it made when i got on it. I was putting down 407 at the wheels from a 9psi pulley and i loved it.

They don't make Whipple kits for 2V GT's.

you'll hear good and bad about all of the companies. Personally I've loved the two ATI ProChargers I've owned and I'm considering putting one on my 2000 GT.

Personally if your going to go with a power adder id go with a procharger kit or turbo. Just as was said it depends on the tune and the components of the build on how it will react. I Like procharger alot. WHen I was in az a friend had a 1996 gt with a procharger and man it screamed and he said he loved it. Didnt have much problems with it. Just do more research and find out whats best for you price wise and power wise.
