k just got my motor all buttoned up runns great.but when it gets to full oper. temp its starts ticking slightly? any info would be great .on what it might be?

What is oil presure warm. Where is the noise coming from (upper or lower)? does the pitch change when you reve it?

If you hold it a 8k for 5min does the noise change............................................ ...........J/k

oil pressure is good when warm.the ticking is up top. i did the old hose trick all over the motor.and its def. up top.think the rockers need re tightened?

not sure how many mile is on the fifters. but the short block has around 40k. i reused my old rollers on my new motor and pushrods

You asked if the rocker should be retightened.... Did you tighten them to a certian point and stop or till they where tight?

i tightened them to spec rolled the motor. and all that good stuff

Do you have bolt down rockers or stud mount? Sounds like its just lifters out of adjustment if your oil pressure is good at operating temps and the lifters you reused didn't tick in the last motor.

mine just started it for some reason after i installed this new ignition box, its coming from passanger side behind the header

maybe you have a leak at the smog pump tube on the back of the head.. ^^^^^^^

you know, a buddy of mine said the same thing, an i thinks thats what it may be, because ive been told my smog pump is going out

AMIN, its annoying as hell dude, i usually tur my key, turn the radio up, THEN start it so i dont have to hear it

Whay kind of cond oil wise ws the motor you pulled the lifters out of? be that is it gummed up and not pumping up
