I put a Explorer long block in my 93 with a F cam,24lb injectors, matching MAF and adjustable fuel regulator. Right now with the spout connector out the timing is set on 10BTDC. I took the cap off to verify the rotor pointing at the #1 wire. The collectors are glowing a little while sitting at idle warming up. Thinking it may be fuel related but not sure. Any ideas?

It sounds like you have 2 Plug wires crossed...

don't think so. They are numbered and going to the right spots on the cap. Car runs pretty strong up to 5K or so. I'll double check next time though.

The collectors are glowing? I'm going to assume you mean the tubes.
Maybe a lean condition?

Usually means rich or timing is off...could also be the spark is jumping to another cylinder.

They are glowing where the H pipe meets the collector where the header tubes meet. After reading up I'm thinking rich. The larger injectors and spitting like they are 19s. Guess I could reduce the pressure and see what that does.

well made progress. redid TDC and moved the distributor over a tooth and got it set to 14 base/26 advanced. Also cleaned the salt and pepper shakers and made a better connection. Took off the IAC and cleaned it out. Tried it and the idle still hung high. So I took the IAC back off and was right about my assumtion. The valve inside was sticking and was sticking open. Cleaned it some more and worked it up and down. Helped loosen it up enough to get the idle right. Did the throttle stop procedure and now it idles roughly around 1K which is better then the 1750 it was at earlier. This has made my weekend. Something actually went right for once.
